You can now visit it at http://www.bart.nl/~mfgr/toriamos.htm . It contains information on how to submit a track for Tori Amos Covered 2, the compilation which I hope to release in 1998. I have been getting email on my old address, 100276.2176@compuserve.com (or marcel@compuserve.com) fairly recently and it is important to note that I will _not_ be checking that address anymore. If you have a copy of Tori Amos Covered, please be sure to note the new address for the Tori Amos Covered Homepage. This one will exist for a long time, but I have some experience with switching addresses and it usually means one thing: Chaos. If you want to contribute your version of a Tori Amos song, please check the Homepage for more info!! Believe or not, I ran a very similar poll almost four years ago during the early days of the really-deep-thoughts mailing list. I seem to remember Winter and Presious Things winning tying, but winning by a landslide. I figured this was a good enough reason for me to actually say something to you all. 1. Anyway, I first came into contact with Tori when I saw Silent All These Years on VH1. I barely caught the name and later decided to take a chance with one of my free BMG selections (which also got me another favorite - The Lightning Seeds). I think it was Precious Things that actually got me hooked though. If your talking favorite song, then Caught a Lite Sneeze has creeped up to a tie with PT. 2. Let's see. I'm a senior at Wisconsin, I troubleshoot on the School of Education's computer network, and I call people up for surveys at Custom Research Inc. All that plus I run the Netrunner collectible card game's fan group homepage (great stratagie and bluff game - take poker and chess and combine them and you get the idea). - Rob Konitzer http://post.soemadison.wisc.edu/~konitzer PhantM on #netrunner, undernet; icq#1953195 ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 19 Jul 1997 14:14:34 -0400 (EDT) From: RedShift17@aol.com Subject: Re: funfun pollpoll Well, I was about 12 when LE came out.. so I missed that one. But when UtP came out, I heard it on the radio, so I asked for it for X-mas.. After listening, I was blown away.. soon after, I got a hold of as many singles as I could find + LE... It wasn't one song.. soo.. her b-sides are still my faves. I've never see any of her videos on MTV tho.. I never watch it anyways... I did see cornflake girl in Wet Seal once... What is THE ONE Tori song (okay - you can have a tie) that >did it for you; that made you say 'I've gotta go out and >get everything I can by this person?' the first time i ever saw tori was on vh1... the saty video, and i thought she was the most beautiful freakazoid ever... the girl in the box deal rocked my world... this was around 8th grade... but at that age, i listened to what the *coo' kids* listened to... which was still dominated by the mainstream pop shtuff that they aired on z100 etc, at least in my case... so i didn't pursue it too much after that... then in sophomore year, i was sleeping over a friend's house and we were talking about date rape/abuse etc, and she said, you have to hear this song by this woman named tori amos... it's all in a capella and is really amazing.. so i listened to the song, and was mesmerized by the power of the emotion in the lyrics and her voice... it totally blew me away and i almost couldn't even breathe... then i listened to the rest of the cd and was hooked from there... ever since then, i've been almost obsessive about her... much like another girl who posted to this list (i think it was anita... hi!) tori was the one who allowed my appreciation in music to transcend the teeny-bopperish crap that was plaguing the airwaves... since then, music has been more than just background noise... besides tori, my other goddesses have been ani difranco and dar williams... their lyrics speak to me so much more than the oh-so-profound *shake your love, i just can't shake, your love*... and my world has been revolutionized ever since! yay! >Poll #2. I'm relatively new to this list and this is my first post but I've been a Tori fan for a fair few years now. I'll admit I got hooked originally after hearing Crucify for the first time and went from there, buying every CD I could find.... > Poll #2. What do you do? Student? Studying what? Working?
