The 2. choice is an OK shirt, as is 3. The fourth I have not seen and do not own. Other ones from this tour: Front Her face (half) Tori Amos Back: Her face (other half) Dew Drop Inn Really though, I was dissappointed in the shirts from the BfP tour, and if there was any shirt I'd hunt for if I was you, it would be from the UtP tour, which may still be found, it's a long sleeved thin gray shirt, with the picture of tori along with lab equipment on the front and "tori amos under the pink" on the rear. I think any of your choices are acceptable for any high school... I can't think of them going balistic.. hell, wear the recovering Xtian shirt, see what they say :) Anyway, as long as it's a shirt you can live with. They kept changing shirts on the tour, which was confusing.. when I saw her perform in Memphis, they had this shirt that had a hot air balloon, the Recovering Xtian shirt, and a shirt that had the Caught a lite sneeze photo.. In Des Moines, they didn't have the recovering shirt or any of the balloon shirts, but they added one I haven't seen since, which looked like Tori doing the scene from Shawshank Redemption when he escapes (her on her knees with her arms straight up) on the back: "Boys for Pele" Whatever shirt turns your fancy. Or get them all. Well, even if you don't, please help those of us who do. M2 plays Tori Amos videos notoriously little. So, us toriphiles must do something about it!! Every friday, from June 13 on, e-mail M2MUSIC@AOL.COM telling them to play more Tori Amos. Or, if you don't just want to request ANY tori video, request a specific one. However, to make it work, you MUST request Tori Amos. The fans of the Presidents of the USA did this, and they aired an hour-long special with all of the President's videos and other appearances too! Please forward this to any other Tori fans you know!! Scream! Okay, does anyone have the t-shirts I name below? I am mostly wondering if they are proper to be worn at a public school. So, it can't be profane (this automatically filtered out the "But I believe in peace Bitch" one...), and It can't be scandalous (It can't have the picture of tori Suckling a pig that is in the insert of BOYS FOR PELE). And, I want to hear your opinion on which ones are best... 1. Mummy design, two-sided 2. 3 "Boys for Pele" pics on front, big pic on back with "Dewdrop Inn 96" 3. Alix ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Jun 1997 22:16:25 -0400 From: Daisy Dead Petals Subject: Tori Clips. Hey guys. I have a friend over in Australia who hooked me up with some wav files that are from the Rage (well, I think thats what its called), which is like the MTV for them. They have had Tori's Proffessional Widow remix on the top 50 for some time now. Anyway, they are running these interview clips and I was wondering if they were from a complete interview or what. Here is what they say... Clip 1: "Believe it or not, believe it or not, things aren't as compartmentalized as they used to be like food-- do you notice how spices are intermingling now? Whats so great is that the English food is influenced now by India, so things are changing, I mean you don't just get boiled potatoes anymore, you get it with a little cayenne pepper. Its all just becoming like, yummy or not yummy." Note: I *love* the way she says "Do you notice how spices are intermingling now?" Clip 2: "I'm seeing a lot of elements that were never brought together before. Rock isn't just rock, jazz isn't just jazz, classical isn't just classical. There are becoming no boundries, right. Its like 'Oh can I try that dress on?' and then some guy come and goes 'Can I try that dress?' and hes not taking my dress, and I'm not taking his dress. But I do love the, um, the merging." In addition, I just wanted to comment that I thought both clips came down to how un-'compartmentalized' Tori's music is. When I hear Tori on the radio, she is *usually* on the 'alternative' stations. Also, in CD order catalogs, etc, she is listed under Alternative music. But, when you listen to Tori, don't you hear a little bit of everything? So what did people decide? If she doens't fit here or here, then we'll stick her in the 'alternative' section? ~Kimmy ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Jun 1997 00:26:09 -0400 (EDT) From: WeirdyBoy@aol.com Subject: 4 CD Dew Drop Inn thing... i've heard rumor of a 4 cd set of rare songs from the Dew Drop Inn Tour coming out in the next few months. So, did you get a sense of what "rare songs" may have implied in this context? Do you think it was more the orientation of Songbird and Agent Orange kind of rare songs; the Pain In His Hole, I Wish I Was a Sombrero kind of rare songs; both; or what? It sounds quite interesting either way. I'd love to have her doing Songbird and Tiny Dancer on a recording. I'd also adore having some of her wacko improv numbers such as Sombrero (from Seattle, July 17, 1996, 7pm) on a recording, too. Man, those are priceless. :-) Be seeing you, Richard Handal, H.G. ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V2 #161 *************************************
