Does anyone know the name of the song that Tori talks about on the LE video? The one she played for that boy when she was 12? Remember...he threatened to bash her if she played it! If anyone knows the name of this song, and/or knows where I can hear it, please let me know!! Thanks!! With so many web sites about Tori including us, we were wondering...which wonderful Toriphile had the very first Tori web site? Are they still around? We heard that Tori Amos was the first recording Artist that had her own "offical" web site too. Is that true? And did they mean at Atlantic or the world? Hopefully some of the "big" boys out there could help us out :) RDT Terry - Maria - Melissa Planet Tori - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - ------------- "she's a Beauty Queen.....my sweet bean bag in the street..." As mentioned in the official bio, the title of the song is More Than Just a Friend. She co-wrote it with her brother Mike. You really must get the bio. As many questions as it raises, it answers many of them, too. > Remember...he threatened to bash her if she played it! Right. But he didn't, and she was quoted somewhere (was it the 1994 TV appearance on the American children's program, Name Your Adventure?), as saying that after she played it and she encountered him the next time, he told her that her playing it wasn't as bad as he had expected it to be. She was laughing as she recounted that anecdote. :-D > If anyone knows the name of this song, and/or knows where I can hear it, > please let me know!! Ahh, the hopefulness of youth. :-) Don't expect to be hearing it anytime soon. She's said that she didn't record it, and I have no reason to believe otherwise. Maybe if she still remembers it, one day she'll pull it out of her hat just to make some of us faint. :-) > Thanks!! Sure, no problem. In my searches I found about 350 MBytes of Tori Quicktime on the Internet. Ranging from 2MB to 26MB in file-size. The two main sources are: http://infoweb.interaccess.com/red/ So RED http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~lau/ Daniel Leo Lau's Dedication to Tori I am compiling a CD-R with Tori quicktime and stuff, but it will take several months before it will be completed. I don't think there's any way to answer that question. > Are they still around? Here's the URL of a site that's still online, even though it hasn't been updated since 1994. It has a bunch of the 1994 set lists on it. It belongs to Robert J. Kollmeyer: http://www.cs.wustl.edu/~rjk1/toritour.html Kevin Hawkin's Tori Home Page has been around since 1994, and is still at the same URL: http://gto.ncsa.uiuc.edu/khawkins/tori.html The Nocturne site was one of the earliest ones, too. You know, you've stumbled onto something interesting. Very little is done in the way of documenting the history of such things. I don't mean only Tori-wise, but on the internet in general. I know a lot about the history of RDT, even though it was running for a year and a half before I managed to get on it. When telling John Stewart some of the tidbits I know, he suggested I should write some of it down, but I didn't think many people would be too terribly interested in some of the tidbits I knew. You folks are the first people I ever knew to ask about such history at *all*. > We heard that Tori Amos was the first recording Artist that had her own > "offical" web site too. Is that true? There are many references to them in her songs; for ex. Nine Inch Nails (in Precious Things) and Pretty Hate Machine (I forget the song)...there were 7 others that a friend and I caught while listening to Tori (most of them are names of NIN songs...and most of them are on Little Earthquakes) I was just wondering if anyone knew if Tori was a fan of theirs or if Trent Reznor is a fan of Tori, or if there is no actual relation what-so-ever...we also notice that some of them are in all caps in the lyric sheet....hmmmmm JODIO I don't like marshmallows. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Apr 1997 15:58:22 EST From: "i'm atomic. boom!" Subject: tori and nin first off - the caps in the little earthquakes booklet were chosen for design puposes only, i read that somewhere - it might have been on this mailing list anyway...yeah, she and trent are good friends, and the radio stations won't stop asking about it - he sang with her on Past the Mission and there's the reference in Precious Things and again in Caught a Lite Sneeze, and there's the whole Til the Chicken thing thats been going around i'm a big nin fan (and have been waiting impatiently for thier new album) - i have been a fan since Pretty Hate Machine, and have researched a lot about Trent and Tori....there's a little paper on the Fairy Tales page (http://hubcap.clemson.edu/~watts/tori/) about the Tori-Trent conspiracy that you might want to check up on it WAS rumoured that she has a tattoo on her shoulder that says NIN, but i'm not too sure about that one jordan wearing black and never colourblind ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Apr 1997 14:58:59 -0500 (CDT) From: "raisin girl" Subject: here. in my head hey, does anyone else out there own the new zealand(i think) edition of under the pink with the two cd's (one reg utp and one b-sides)? anyway, i noticed that here. in my head is misspelled. it says hear, in my head (i also thought it was supposed to be a period and not a comma). i was just wondering if it was one of those mistakes that was fixed and now the ones with mistakes are valuable or something.
