However, it does contain "If 6 Was 9" and "Strange Fruit" from the limited edition UK CfG single, which is currently going for a lot more than the $23 that you'd pay for this disc! I personally have this one, for the out-of-print tracks on it, and am quite pleased. > TORI $22.99 > Precious Little Diamonds This, like Over the Pink above, is called a counterfeit. However, all of the songs on this one {unlike Over the Pink} are still easily available. You should have no trouble finding the CaLS and Talula discs, which is what most of these songs come from. In fact, you can probably buy these singles for less than what this disc will cost you, and Tori will get something from these sales. I don't mind Over the Pink 'cause it has stuff that's impossible to find anymore, but I dislike Precious Little Diamonds 'cause everything on it is still *very* readily availble. > This one has some newer songs on the cd and i think its has 10 YKTR > tracks..im not sure how many are supposed to be on there... Yes, YKTR is 10 tracks. :) For more specific information about YKTR andthe various boots made of it, you can check out the YKTR FAQ at: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/alley/4370/yktrfaq.html If he holds true to form, and assuming he's gotten the Tori-boot page up there, that is located at: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/alley/4370/tabdnew.html Do not quote me on the last one, though! I haven't checked to see if it's up there yet! :) I hope you enjoy your new Tori-boots . . . :) /nad *************************************************************************** * Nadyne Mielke, CS majour, Southern Tech, Marietta, GA * * * * "I regret to say that we of the FBI are powerless to act in cases of * * oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate * * commerce. I agree with Nadyne that you can get most of the stuff on it very easily, but it also has "Baltimore" and "Walking With You" on it, two songs that are impossible to find legitimately. So if you don't have those two songs, it's worth it if you want them bad enough. That's why I have it! However, Walking With You is available on "Under the Covers I", the cassette of covers put together by the folks over at Really Deep Thoughts {the emailing list, not the fan club}. Both Baltimore and Walking with You are on disc I of Tori Stories, and are also on the disc Ultra Rarities {which is just disc I of Tori Stories, if ou don't want the other 3 discs}. Ultra Rarities should go for $20-$20, and Tori Stories should cost you around $70. It started out as all the Frequently Asked Questions about the album "Boys For Pele". From there it grew into a listing of all upcoming television, radio, print, and other events. Its now just a way to keep people updated with all the latest Tori news. No discussion, just news and facts. The list owner of "Precious Things" has requested that I send my BFP FAQ postings to this list also, so here it is. -Greg ****************************************************************************** * * TORI AMOS: REALLY FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 3/17/97 * ****************************************************************************** * Q: What's on the new "Silent All These Years" single? A: The new US SATY single (Atlantic 2-83001) contains two tracks: the album version and a live version from the RAINN benefit concert. As far as I know, this is a US-only release. - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What's this Tori CD from Sunglasses Hut? A: Sunglasses Hut (a store that sells sunglasses, usually found in shopping malls) is running a promotion where the purchase of any Calvin Klein sunglasses comes with a CD containing "Me And A Gun (live)" and the *album* version of "Putting the Damage On". CK sunglasses are priced $75-100 and $2 of each sale goes to RAINN. - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What is the RAINN shirt and where can I get one? A: Tori and Calvin Klein have teamed up for a new "Unlock the Silence" campaign to promote RAINN (see above). As part of this year-long effort, a special "Unlock The Silence" shirt will be sold wherever Calvin Klein clothes are sold. Proceeds benefit RAINN. The original press release stated that the shirt will come with a live CD of music from Tori's RAINN benefit concert. I don't know if this is still true, there has been no mention of any CD recently. You can see a picture and order a shirt from the RAINN web site (http://www.rainn.org/support.html). RAINN has said that these shirts will only be available in white but several fans have seen the black shirts for sale at Tower Records. - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What is the "Putting The Damage On" remix? A: A promotional CD titled "Tori Amos Retrospective/The Benefit For RAINN" (PRCD 6999-2) was released by Atlantic. It contains a remix of "Putting the Damage On" titled "The Twilight Mix". This mix is along the lines the "Dakota Mix" of "Hey Jupiter". You can hear the remix at my web site (http://www.webville.com/~tori). Other tracks on the CD are: Cornflake Girl, God, Silent All These Years, Caught A Lite Sneeze, Crucify (remix), Precious Things, China, Me And A Gun, Talula (The Tornado Mix), Past The Mission, and Smells Like Teen Spirit. - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Where can I find this "Tori Amos Retrospective" CD? A: These are rare and in-demand so they are hard to find and won't be cheap. Intergalactic Garage had some for sale at $55 each. They quickly sold out but might have got some more. Also try EQS, Rainy Day, and Alta Mira: Intergalactic Garage (304) 876-6818 igg@intrepid.net http://www.intrepid.net/igg/igg.html EQS Music (315) 252-1999 (M,W,F noon-6pm EST; Tu,Th 6pm-9pm EST) http://www.eqsmusic.com Rainy Days Records rainy@mindspring.com 1-800-636-6166 Alta Mira (603) 482-3257 http://members.aol.com/amcyber1/AM.htm - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: I heard about a new book for Tori collectors? A: Here is the info: TORI AMOS COLLECTIBLES by Paul Campbell US ISBN 0.8256.1578.X Omnibus Press UK ISBN 0.7119.6174.3 216 pages, $29.95 Order No. OP 47869 Its jammed with pictures (at least 5 per page) of CDs and promo items. This is not so much a book about Tori but rather about collecting her CDs and various items. The author has done an excellent job of cataloging rare items. There is quite a bit missing and no price guide but this book is a must-have for any serious collector - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Is a new version of "Boys For Pele" out? A: There is a new UK release of "Boys For Pele" (EastWest 7567-80696-2). The sticker on the cover says "Special Edition includes 'Professional Widow' (Armand's Star Trunk Funkin' Mix) (8:08)". This album also has the regular version of "Professional Widow" but omits "In The Springtime Of His Voodoo". - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What new magazines and TV programs have Tori content? A: The new April issue of SPIN Magazine named Tori as #13 of the "40 Essential Artists". There is a full-page color photo and a brief paragraph. End. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Mar 1997 16:57:14 -0600 From: Starbucky Subject: Re: REALLY COOL TORI STUFF!!! Hi, I went to this link, http://musiccenteral.msn.com/Home.htm and when I got there I decided to check out the album review, not only did they only give it one star, but the review was terrible.
