I've liked her music since I heard crucify and a SATY way back when, but CaLS was what got me really into Tori...I went from having only BFP in October to having 23 CD's now...but I really want a lot of the old CD singles especially the limited edition ones from UTP and LE. I was hoping if any of you know any contacts that could get it for me for CHEAP! I can get it for inflated prices, but there is no way that I can afford paying 40 dollars for one five track CD...I mean I would if I had the money, but I am on such a budget that it is literally impossible for me to come up with the money. If you know ANYONE who could get anything for me...please email me privately at Rayoooosh@aol.com. Also, for those of you who live in the LA area, I was wondering if any of you know a store, that has a lot of inexpensive tori stuff, the operative word being inexpensive...please tell me...I know some places like on Melrose and stuff, but even those places are commercial. I need beaten down old places that haven't had customers for weeks, that's where I can find stuff...please please tell me if you know of any place...again, email me privately.... THANKS SO MUCH!!!! I was wondering for those of you in London and stuff, is it easier to find rare stuff in England, or more difficult? My cousin who studies in London is flying in at the end of this month and I told him to look around...what do you think the chances of him finding anything are? Sorry for such a long post.... I would have to say that songs like SATY, crucify, and upside down capture the "STUFF" far better than maag. Just curious if people really dig this track, or if people think it's the most important because she plays it every night. Sure, SATY and Crucify are great musically (maybe even better composistions), but MAAG's message is most important, and to write it surely took a lot of Tori. (And I'm sure performing it takes a lot out of her too). - -- David/Figg ======================================================= Drawn to the Rhythm. I'm not sure of the rules here, but decided to take a chance. This isn't really tori related, so if you have shut out all music other than tori, read no further! I found out about Mary Lydia Ryan through a post on rmt-a that said 'check out her web site for a free copy of her cd' and decided to check it out. I recieved a copy of her cd soon after and have listened to it constantly since. She plays the piano beautifully, has an amazing voice and wonderful lyrics. Many compaire her to Tori, but I think she's more like Carly Simon.. but still, worth a listen. The free cd thing is this: if you're the first in your state/country to ask for one, you'll get one. Last I checked only twenty or so were given out. She's not making any money off of these cds, and really deserves some attention! I think my favorite track (well, one of them) is the first, which is Farewell Ophelia, a beautiful haunting piano tune with lyrics straight from Shakespeare's Ophelia suicide scene. Anyway, if you're interested at all, check out her web site and read more reviews: http://www.eventure.com/mlr or reality@eventure.com /meade http://toriamos.home.ml.org ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 9 Mar 1997 20:25:26 -0500 From: "Jacob" Subject: Westwood One Interviews Hey, I went out of my way to get this one. It was good, but not as good as I thought it would be. The one I have is copyrighted for 1996 (UFO/WW1 2CD). First of all it has only one interview on it, and the packaging says "interviews". Second, you can hardly hear what the interviewer is saying. Third, it is only 30 min. long (approx). and lastly she doesn't talk about her music very much. But she often doesn't. She does, however, reveal some things that she rarely talks about, like her views on abortion, etc. I get the feeling it is part of a series or something, and I just have one volume. Mine is two shades of bluish-purple with a pic of Tori in a grey sweater with a blue zipper, standing outside a doorway in the wind. On the back is a pic of tori looking in a mirror. I got it 'cause I thought it might be rare. And I wanted it too. Is it rare? Hope that helps some, .j ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 09 Mar 1997 20:31:21 -0500 From: Daisy Dead Petals Subject: Re: Westwood One Interviews > I thought it would be. The one I have is copyrighted for 1996 (UFO/WW1 > 2CD). Ya, but the actual interview is from 1992, I believe, following the release of LE. The interviewer says the date in the beginning. Also, I noticed the interviewer distinctly sounded like the person who interviewed Tori on the LE video, ya know the one that asks " While you were up there it looked like there were things buzzing around your head" or something to that affect and they are in some small room, Tori is wearing a sleeveless orange shirt and somebody walks through the room while they are talking. I'm almost positive it was her. > She does, however, reveal some > things that she rarely talks about, like her views on abortion, etc. Yes!!! She talks about many things I had never heard her comment about on this CD! > I got it 'cause I thought it might be rare. And I wanted it too. Is it > rare? Dont think so. Also, this was labeled a "picture disk". I don't get what the big deal is with them, but... *shrug* - -kimmy ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Mar 1997 00:24:29 -0500 (EST) From: Rayoooosh@aol.com Subject: ReCoRd CoNvEnTiOnS First, I would like to thank all of you who responded to my post about the past singles, I appreciate all the help from everyone. Secondly, many of you recommended that I try record conventions, but how does one go about finding out where or when these conventions are...is there like an internet site or something? If you know anything about these conventions, especially ones in the LA area, please please please pass it on to me...
