- ----------geoboundary Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Hi! I am starting a mailing list called "The Tori Amos Quote of the Day". If you would like to be included in this list, please reply to this message with the words Tori Quote in the subject, and whatever you'd like in the message. Be sure and tell your friends, I want to spread the word of Tori to all who are interested! Thanks for your time! Sincerely, Elizabeth Perry - ----------geoboundary-- - --------------40703522684D-- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 15 Feb 1997 20:00:00 -0500 From: "Jacob" Subject: A New Tori Page I am constructing a new tori site. A better phrase might be '(s)tori site', because I plan to make it full of Stories. I've already decided the name, it's going to be called "MODEL PLANES: CRASHED". Pretty Good eh. (Most of you will know where that comes from). But the reason I am telling you is because I want the whole site to be based around Tori's songs, as they apply to you. That means I want your: interpretations of song meanings; reasons you like the songs; what you were doing when you first heard it; how you can relate to it; etc. Then I will put them all up on the page. It's all on an individual song basis (meaning don't address a whole album, just songs). Please, I know that Tori fans are amoung the most creative type of fans, and the most emotional, so send in anything, any response to any song (by Tori). Some ideas off the top of my head: Poems dealing with the same subject matter; Origional songs responding to a Tori song; Pictures (drawing/paintings/photos) inspired by certain Tori songs; "When I first heard this song I was..." type stories. ANYTHING!! Be creative Be Weird Be yourself Be someone else! I don't care. As long as you tell me which song it pertains to. My whole criteria for thinking up this page was: "make something Tori would like", and I think she would like this if she happened to stumble upon it. SO get writing (or whatever), and send it to me (jacob@idirect.com). Thank you for you time. And, to start a topic that I thought of while waiting for the bus today, I was wondering what everyone's favorite musical moments where. We've all done the favorite song thread, so this is a new twist. Here's some of mine: Tori Amos: Father Lucifer: when her voice overlaps like three/four times. Somewhere over the Rainbow(Live): the very beginning, when the crowd is yelling out requests and she says "Some-" and they all hush. Sugar (Live): the very beginning when a girl in the crowd screams "SUGAR!!" at the top of her lungs. Such passion. (Thanks if that girl is on the list) Proffessional Widow (Merry Widow Live): "I'll get some seafood later" Graveyard: The whole thing, it's like a "moment" long, and it feels like a piece of a larger song. I wish it were longer. And these are just recent songs by Tori, I have so many. I hope you guys get the idea. Thanks for listening, (reading). .j "I shaved every place where you been" -Tori Amos "Blood Roses" ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V2 #45 ************************************
