Maybe some of you read the Sisters of Mercy mail I took from the Dominion mailing list and sent to p.t. (You know: the one concerning the Sisters going on tour with Tori) Well, apparently some Sisters fans aren't particularly fond of Tori, for I've read some quite shocking remarks/insults about her since that mail. I'll collect them and send them to p.t. sooner or later (Just to show what a bunch of pathetic loser they are!!) Stefan - The Flying Dutchman p.s. The problem is that I know shit about them. What's the concept behind the series, how long has it been out there already, and what's the best way to get started (= which episode should I read first)? Could someone please help me out here? Thanx Stefan - The Flying Dutchman p.s. Keep sending in your entries for the "least popular Tori song" contest (Look, I no longer call it "crappiest song"!!!). ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 21 Jan 1997 08:42:51 -0200 From: Bob Moyer Subject: Re: neil gaiman N.Verdijsseldonk@student.kun.nl wrote: > I've considered diving into Neil Gaiman's Sandman chronicles for quite a > while now. Could > someone please help me out here? Hey. I'm a huge Gaiman fan, so I'm replying to you... The Sandman series is a whole mythology created by Neil Gaiman and various others, where the prime drives of humanity are represented by a family of eternals. Namely: Destiny Dream Death Destruction Despair Desire Delirium (the one with the strong Tori influence). All of the series is simply incredible, and I most recommend reading them from start to finish. You can pick them up in coallated graphic novel form instead of single comic book- I recommend (from $12 to $21) doing so. If you can only pick ONE book, I would recommend one that's not in the TRUE Sandman series at all. The Sandman series is a little too large for you to only read one... I'd get "The High Cost of Living," which centers around Death instead of Dream, and which Tori intros. I just wanted to comment on this posting and say that I've met SO many cool people by hanging out in the Tori section on Compuserve and have had the chance to even meet face-to-face with a few fans. I urge everbody to use those free hours and drop in for a visit. There's a cool library with Tori pics and artwork (picture of me and Tori included) and a conference held every Sunday at the "Dew Drop Inn" section 18 conference room for fans to chat about Tori and anything else. It's a good place to get to know Tori fans around the globe and can be found by typing GO FANBCLUB (the Tori section is in Fan Club B). Hope to see some of you around!!!!
