The guy playing for the Under the Pink Tour last name was "Miller"....I realy can't remember his first name right now, but he is Native American and I thought he had good stuff to say and play. I could se why Tori wanted him to open, but for Dew Drop Inn, I saw this guy with long curly wild hair and I didn't really pay attention to him...I was wondering where she found him. He seemed like a high schooler. I think maybe sometime people that are big and have a following, want to give people who are small and just starting out in the music world, a chance to play. I guess it is cool for the opening guy. Just think, if Tori never got to play anywhere...we wouldn't know who she was. Everyone has to start somewhere..... Willy Porter was, IMHO, just okay. Nothing really out of the ordinary, nothing about his music really caught my attention. {With the exception of the Jackson 5 cover, and that's only 'cause I was cringing. ;) } But Josh Clayton-Felt . . . **yawn** I tried, I really tried to pay attention. The music started out okay, at least, but it seemed like he really had no idea how to end the song, so would just repeat a line over and over and over and over and over and over and . When the song finally ended . . . I felt like the applause from the folks around me was just applause that he shut up, not applause for his singing/playing/songwriting. But, this is all just MHO. /nad *************************************************************************** * Nadyne Mielke, CS majour, Southern Tech, Marietta, GA * * * * "I regret to say that we of the FBI are powerless to act in cases of * * oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate * * commerce. She would look good next to anyone and I don't think she's that worried about her image anyway! I didn't get to hear the opening act because when I heard Tori there were two shows in once night and the opener didn't even play. But of all the things I've heard about Tori, none of them say she's a kind of person that needs to make themselves look good by standing next to those who are bad! Also, does anyone know of any extra tickets to the Bouder show on November 11th, the second show? I'm REALLY looking for some tickets, back row, in the aisles, hanging from the ceiling anything, I don't care! ~Erin ------------------------------ From: Jeannie Cook Date: Mon, 28 Oct 1996 19:25:56 -0600 (CST) Subject: god again i wrote about her performance of "god" at the wolf trap show, and i have something to add. i just got the tori stories box set in the mail today and it has a live show in which she did "god" very different than at the wolf trap show. it has the percussion pumped in through the speakers, i am guessing, seeing as how i've never heard of her having anyone on stage with her except caton (spelling?). anyway, it is VERY well done (i enjoyed when they pumped the bass and etc in for "talula" at wolf trap - very hard to pull off but of course she was amazing) if you want a copy of this i could possibly make a copy for you and send it (i dont know who i am addressing here i forgot who asked about it) or, as i would recomend, you should try and find this box set. it is very much worht it. email me directly if you want to order it or have a copy made of "god" sorry for the long post but i do not have the address of whoever originally asked the question :) peace to all :) jeannie jlc9@netdoor.com ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V1 #213 *************************************
