No. I have a tape of a boot that includes Tori's "rarities": songs she rarely does in concert: Purple Rain, Danny Boy, She's leaving Home, Yes, Anastasia....... KrW It was the least I could do! And never let it be said that I didn't do the least I could do. ------------------------------ From: the romsey gravel in the gales Date: Thu, 22 Aug 1996 21:46:46 -0400 Subject: boy, your boots can leave a mess i've decided that tori can't release anymore singles from b4p cos i can't fit anymore b-sides on the 100 minute tape which i recorded the album onto. :) seriously though, i did dub as many b-sides as possible onto that tape and managed to fit all the silly songs, the chas and dave tribute, and all the songs from the first uk talula single. surprisingly, this was the first time i've really listened closely to these tracks and i think i like the hungarian wedding song the best, though graveyard is a close second. both are strong, melodic pieces, but are also woefully incomplete! they seem like sketches. perhaps she'll come back to them someday. in contrast, the talula b-sides sound underdeveloped - the doodles that come before sketches, if you will. dunno, i guess we're all just spoiled b-side brats when it comes to tori: when the non-album tracks for the past two albums have been as strong as - or stronger - than the album tracks, we - or at least i - come to expect a high standard for what are usually throwaways. anyways. i've also decided that the dakota version of "hey jupiter" is far superior to the album version - and even the live renditions on the harmonium. that chunky backing track with the lonesome drone fits the mood of the song perfectly, despite that weird edit from the first chorus into the woo woo's. finally, meandered into the local sam goody's looking for the new loud family album (alright everyone, in unison now: "who?") and they were playing that dakota version. though they didn't have what i was looking for, i lingered long enough to hear it all. :) woj ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V1 #156 *************************************
