She noticed it on Regis and Kathy Lee. I noticed it the two nights in NYC that she did me and a gun. I am not talking about seeing it I am talking about hearing it. To me it was like someone scratching a chalk board with their nails but a little less irritating. I just keep on hoping the song would be over soon. Sorry but it was one of those noises I don't like. ------------------------------ From: mfgr@bart.nl (Marcel Rijs) Date: Sat, 01 Jun 1996 18:00:07 -0100 Subject: Tori Amos Covered on CD - soundsamples on WWW! Hi, There are now TWO DAYS left to order the Tori Amos Covered CD. For those of you who don't know what this project is, it is a 70 minute compilation of fans covering Tori Amos in various musical reworkings. This CD release is a once-only item, which will also be strictly personalized, so you know you have an original item. Now, in support of the project and its sales, a new homepage has been made on http://www.bart.nl/~mfgr/toricovered.html . Until the 1st of June several soundsamples will be available, enabling people to listen to pieces of the covers. All samples are in 8 bit mono, to save space. So, how to get "Tori Covered"? If you're not Tori Amos (who got her CD totally free on March 15th), you will have to pay $36 for each disc you order. When not living in Holland, it's preferable to send a check for the appropriate amount. Some people have sent cash, and it has all arrived, but you can do it at your own risk only! If you want to order one or more CD's, please e-mail me, and I will send you the correct address to send the money to, as well as a complete tracklisting. If you order & send in your money BEFORE JUNE 1st, you will receive the CD during the month of June! (When e-mailing, please state the mailing list you read this. But that's just to satisfy my own curiosity...) AFTER JUNE 1st THE CD CAN NO LONGER BE ORDERED!!! Well... she definately has an abundance of saliva there. Back to the point.. I really like that part... I'm not sure exactly why. I think the breathing and such in her music or, as Entertainment Weekly put it- "the microphone planted in her laranx", makes the music seem that much more intimate. I suppose I'll have to hear Me and A Gun on this tour. ~Angie ------------------------------ From: jeffw (Jeff Wasilko) Date: Sat, 1 Jun 96 21:12:59 EDT Subject: Administrivia (smoe.org) As I mentioned earlier, the smoe.org domain is moving to a new internet provider. The move is scheduled to happen Sunday morning. During Sunday and Monday morning, although there is a small chance that mail might bounce en-route to smoe.org during this transition. If it does, please wait an hour or so and try again. This change will allow my servers to be on the internet 24 hours a day, so I'll be able to provide ftp and WWW access to the archives. It will also mean faster email delivery. Again, this change should be 100% transparent--the list addresses will not be changing. - -Jeff ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V1 #95 ************************************
