So, check it out if you're in the area and don't mind meeting someone through the personals! jenn PS. Are there any other Tori Internet mailing lists? Also, I got a poster from one of the fan clubs (RDT? - can't remember) and the poster tube it was sent in looked like it was smushed or run over by a large truck, then rained on!!! Anyone else have their poster delivered like this or know who I should write to/call to try to get a replacement? ------------------------------ From: mfgr@bart.nl (Marcel F G Rijs) Date: Sun, 28 Apr 1996 21:23:03 -0100 Subject: Re: April 24th Hi, "Sister Ray" wrote: >>Also, what's the security at these concerts? In Amsterdam, as some of you already know, a security jerk took my camera, assuring me I'd get it back after the concert. I did get it back, however, not with the film in it. The f*cking asshole robbed my pictures, which weren't even taken at her concert, but backstage, so nothing illegal there. This just to stress how different security animals can react. Some of them are really very nice and decent, but most of them are just plain lusting after power. (O and don't bother contacting their bosses; I haven't heard any reply on my two letters as yet. The third one is going out tomorrow... But apparently theft has become legal.) Or can we expect more reknowned >performers? Just curious. Well, the performers were "chosen" by making themselves known to me. In 1994, I've been searching for ToriFans on Ecto and Really Deep Thoughts (the mailing list) who were interested in covering a song. Most of them are indeed amateur musicians, which does not mean everything sounds really sucky. In my experience amateur musicians are usually lots more creative and inventive in making covers. Both the tape and CD testify to that. The artists aren't really unknown -- Moira Stern, who contributed two tracks, is a well-known artist in her area (California, if I'm not mistaken) and The Frame has been signed to a record label. Also, the tape version contains a remix by Kevin Moore, previously of Dream Theatre. Adam Thomas Heath wrote: >$36.00 for a CD by a bunch of fans covering Tori songs? Having CD's made is then of course even more expensive. I am not forcing you to buy one, so feel free not to believe the price is worth it... Those who ordered obviously do, and so do I! NOW!(Email for info) ------------------------------ From: "Mike Harris" Date: Sun, 28 Apr 1996 18:25:28 GMT-5 Subject: Tori Mailing Lists I sent this to the girl, but then I noticed a mailing list I forgot, and I thought, "What the hey? I'll let everyone know the ones that are out there." There's Really Deep Thoughts, which has been around since I *think* before LE, or if not that early, then maybe a little after. If you want to subscribe, contact Chris Meyers at cmeyers@oasis.novia.net. It's only in digest form. There's ToriNews, which recently popped up. It's only for time-sensitive Tori information (e.g. concert tix, etc.) but also it's a *little* looser -- but not too much. I guess like concert reviews and such. If you want to subscribe contact John Stewart at johns@chihuly.com. It's only in bounce form. Then there's Precious Things ... =) There's also a Tori bootleg mailing list, which I'm afraid I don't know much about ... I was wondering if anyone else out there has had the same pleasure? The t-shirt says recovering Christian on the front, and the back has a picture of a 50'sish nurse with the words "Tori Amos 1996" underneath. The t-shirt is all black. A nice surprise, but I've never heard of a free t-shirt with tickets before...... So if anyone is looking for June 4th tickets for Cleaveland, let me know.....
