Tori performed a small piece of this infamous song live in concert at the RAI in Amsterdam, on April 16, 1996. The sound sample is almost 300 Kb big, and I must warn you that the quality could be better. But this is something rare, so I couldn't keep it from you! Download the sample on the totally unlinked page http://www.bart.nl/~mfgr/baltimore.html. I don't know how long it'll be there, so be quick! Of note: * Matt Pinfeld (the host) believes it unlikely that Trent will show up for a duet on Tori's 'MTV Unplugged', as Trent is recording his new album. * Tori's 'MTV Unplugged' will *not* be airing later in the month. It will be airing in "mid-June or thereabouts". (This, again, from Matt Pinfeld -- but as an MTV employee, I bet he's pretty reliable. =) * "Talula" premieres this Sunday at 12:00 am on MTV's "120 Minutes". Although I still have yet to see a complete transcript of the event -- people have posted partial fragments, but if someone can post the complete, unadulterated transcript, hackers and all, I'm sure people would appreciate it. If you'd rather, go ahead and e-mail me with it. It was an excellent experience, maybe more so since Tori was rusty on the piano to begin the show, taking a break during mid-PRECIOUS THINGS "to find the girl who has been playing the piano for 30 years" She became much more relaxed after a 5-10 minute break, although I found her hitching at the beginning of each phrase of her second attempt at PRECIOUS THINGS, seemingly to make sure she was in the right key. She became stronger as the evening went on, and I think the MTV people weren't too happy she kept playing new stuff during the encores. But I'm sure this will be a point of discussion on the list for weeks to come. Oh yeah, she had a guitarist (HELP! I don't remember his name, apparently he's worked on all her CDs) and it gave a nice texture to the songs in which he played. This is my first tori concert and I feel so lucky. I was only 25 feet away from her. Here is the set list. There might be some mistakes(I should have write it down during the concert) Leather Blood Roses Putting the Damage on In the spring time of his Voodoo (take 1) Cornflake girl(take 1) Cornflake girl(take 2) Cornflake girl(take 3) Silent all these years(take 1) Marianne Hey Jupitor Silent all these years(take 2) Icicle Honey The theme from Wizard of Oz Caught A Lite Sneeze Me and a Gun Space dog In the Spring Time of his Voodoo (take 2) I think that's all, the order on some might be slightly off. She wasn't happy with the Cornflake girl that's why she recorded it three times. I am pretty sure "In the spring time of his Voodoo" will be on the edited version since some guy from MTV asked her to do that song again. Overall, I loved the show. Her voice is just incredible. She stopped at the beginning of Silent... and said something like"I 'm sucky tonight, I need to take a few minutes off to find the girl inside..." She toke a ten minutes break, and after she came back, the performance was even better. Steve Canton was present for about half the set. And yes, both the Bosendorfer and the Harpsicord were present. Personally I am not too crazy about the Harpsicord. Anyone else went to the unplugged? Feel free to comment and correct my mistake. __________________________________________________________________________ Steven H.
