And when she forgot the words, she improvised by singing something like 'I forgot the words, but this will do instead' (i don't recall excactly what she sang). And that's what she did in New Castle and that's exactly what she did in The Hague, NL too. I loved the whole concert, but this was a little bit of an extinguisher. For those who didn't knew this happened already before the whole trick must have been very nice (those who don't know, don't care), but for me and my friends it wasn't really nice... Is it out on the Europe MTV? Well, i've just seen about half of the video (cut in the beginning and at the end). Anyway, just thought i would drop a few words describing what it's like... First, we see Tori sitting on a black dentist chair with a table of glassware (beakers and flask) on her left. She wears stone-washed blue jeans and purple t-shirt (long sleeve), with loose hair. The whole thing is in some sort of basement with darkish background, only a few spotlights are used to shine on the star. And she (tori, the chair and the tables of beakers) is inside this wooden frame covered with transparent plastics on all sides; later on we see the the Bosendorfer being treated the same way (under the frame) and it stands next to tori's frame... Then a doctor/nurse (female wearing black glasses and black rubber gloves) appears in the frame playing with the flask and preparing the otoscope. As the doctor looks inside tori's head (well, ears), she (the doc.) speaks to the 'operation assistant' (a man also wearing glasses and gloves). We see tori sitting on the chair singing while they examine her. The next thing we see is tori dancing in her isolated frame (without the doctors) facing her piano. And this circus girl walking on the steel line in midair and this man (wearing normal clothing) comes walking to the circus girl from the opposite direction... they met in the middle of the line and then the man steps back a little and they both kinda shaking, finally the guy sorta jumps off. As the doctors analysis their results, we see four people (in their street clothing) playing sax. and others... Aside from the video... When asked about >>how different it was to play the Royal Albert Hall as opposed to a smaller venue, she replied, "I felt so small at The Royal Albert Hall that i could have eaten five large pieces of chocolate cake and nobody would have noticed the extra weight i had put on" There you have it, proof that Tori is definitely not mad!!<< That's all for now, hope that you get some sorta picture. ------------------------------ From: "Scott Bertram" Date: Sat, 16 Mar 1996 13:45:46 +1100 Subject: RCPT: tori & steve live Confirmation of reading: your message - Date: 16 Mar 96 15:28 To: precious-things@smoe.org Subject: tori & steve live Was read at 13:45, 16 Mar 96. ------------------------------ From: eric@netvision.net.il (Tori's slaveboy) Date: Sun, 17 Mar 1996 00:55:05 +0300 Subject: Re: Talula's video >Has anyone seen the full version MTV of Talula?? The full version of the Talula video premiered today on MTV Europe's First Look with Kimsy (watch for re-runs on Sunday and Monday, check out MTV Text page 117 for details). It's a beautiful video, though not that deep and abstract as most of Tori's video stuff (CALS rings a bell?). Tori is like a guinea pig in da video, and she's seperated from her harpsichord (NOT Bosendorfer) by nylon chambers, until finally she cuts hers open with a blow torch (this is a really kewl part) and manages to play the harpsichord through the nylon sheet. Speaking of which, could someone PLEASE tell me which other BfP tracks are gonna be made into singles? It's be a shame not to make videos out of all da album :) I really hope In The Springtime Of His Voodoo will be made into a single. It's not my absolute favorite, but I can really see it sellin' :) C'ya! - Tori Amos eric@netvision.net.il http://www.netvision.net.il/php/eric ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V1 #30 ************************************
