They spread the music out of the goodness of their heart... that's the goal, to spread the love.... not make a buck!!! Of course, I can understand someone wanting their trading supplies paid for, which is why people do B&Ps... but, but are you asking for compensation for your recording supplies??? for your ticket to the concert? for the gas it took you to get there?? Where are you drawing the line?? And then, what are you charging for your time? The way I see you are trying to profit of Tori's music... this has got to be one of the most selfish posts Ive seen out there.... just wait until I get a copy of your recording (and you can rest assured I will if you release it publicly) - b/c I will do as many FREE trades, B&Ps, and ftp trades as I can!! Perhaps, you do not realize that profiting from T's music or selling boots is UNETHICAL, in which case I apologize for being so caustic. If you are interested in doing the right thing, Woj's post should educate on how to go about spreading the *ethical* way. ~~Maria - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maria Aguirre ToriphileMaria@aol.com Boot Trading Website: http://www.auburn.edu/~aguirmg/ "Just tell your gods for me, all debts are off this year -- they're free to leave, yes, they're free to leave..." - Tori Amos - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Dec 2002 15:03:37 -0500 From: Cyndi S Crawford Subject: Re: SF SHOW 12-21 RECORDED >What the girl in the balcony said was, "Silent All These Years!" To which Tori replied, "Fuck you." Knowning how much Tori gives and gets from performing live, and thinking how I would have felt after sharing myself with my audience, and then to have someone shout the name of a different song...it's a thankless thing to do. It would be kind of like putting your heart and soul into baking the ultimate kahlua cream pie for a loved one, setting it down on the table for them to enjoy after it's finished, and having them yell out "Key Lime!!" "Fuck you!"....I would've said the same thing! Now, if the person would have waited until the applause had ended for Gold Dust and THEN yelled out the name of the song, maybe that wouldn't have been so bad. Tony What's more likely? That an all-powerful mysterious god created the universe and then decided not to give any proof of his existence? Or, that he simply doesn't exist at all? And that we created him so that we wouldn't have to feel so small and alone. -Eleanor Arroway, Contact ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V7 #306 *************************************
