I won't post the set lists as a lot of people do, you can check it out on the Dent. I was very pleased with it. There were two girls sitting in front of us in Seattle that would not keep still and shut up the entire concert! Very distracting! Also, tons of people kept getting up and having to tiptoe through the aisles in front of us. It was endless! A little frustrating, but I tried my best to ignore it. Some girl yelled out something about fried rice between songs...I have no idea what she meant, but it made Tori smile. I've heard rumors that Tori doesn't like Seattle nearly as much as Portland. This appeared very true this time around. In Portland she talked a lot more, smiled more, and at the end of the concert gave us the thumbs up sign and mouthed "You guys are the best". It was really, really nice. She played Alamo...which I later learned she has only played a handful of times since the songs inception. Very cool. Another surprise was Mary...which was awesome. She also played here. in my head...one of my favorites. I was in heaven! In Portland, two very short people sat in front of us, no one talked, and everyone actually stayed in their seats during the concert. Very nice!! In Seattle we were in the 9th row off to the right...directly in line where Tori was facing with her head. Very cool. In Portland we were in the 4th row at the same angle. Very, very cool. I saw my ex-girlfriend Laura at both concerts. She is apparently "connected" now because one of Tori's staff members gave her front row seats when they saw her. What was really cool is that she had 13th row dead-center tickets that she was no longer using. She grabbed me and we went up into the nose-bleed bleachers and we picked out a young couple that were there seeing Tori for the first time. She gave them her original tickets. They were skeptical at first but when they saw their new seats...it was amazingly cool. Speaking of seats. Key Arena completely fucked me! I called them before buying tickets to find out how the numbered floor seats were arranged. They told me that the center aisle started out with 1 and went up in numbers towards the outsides. Based on this I bought what I thought were center seats. WRONG! There were also quite a few people sitting around us that thought the same thing. All in all though I was pretty happy with where we sat. Howie Day is awesome!!! I would have liked to have heard him play longer than he did. So talented! I was really impressed! Anyone else noticed how thin Tori looked? Her arms seemed so fragile! I hope she's healthy and doing well! Am I the only one who really REALLY missed Caton on guitar? Or any person on guitar for that matter... I'm not sure why Tori chose to omit a lead guitar on this tour, but I was a little disapointed. It just seemed to me to leave a hole in the overall scheme of the music. I really liked the Chiles Center in Portland. It was a lot smaller than Key Arena and the acoustics were way better! It also had an out-of-the-way feel to it. We ended up parking on a side street just a few blocks fromt he theater...much better than the usual jungle at the bigger venues! I was really, really happy with my tour experience this year. This has definitely renewed my lust for Tori...which has been lagging a little since SLG. I had a really REALLY good time. Hope everyone else did, too!!!! Tony What's more likely? That an all-powerful mysterious god created the universe and then decided not to give any proof of his existence? Or, that he simply doesn't exist at all? And that we created him so that we wouldn't have to feel so small and alone. -Eleanor Arroway, Contact ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Dec 2002 14:47:34 -0500 From: Cyndi S Crawford Subject: my Datura question Thanks for answering my question regarding Datura being performed live, everybody. I went to the KINK radio station and got to see tori with some other really nice folks she came out after the show. She stopped and chatted with us for a second it was really nice. One of the girls there Shelyse gave her a native american necklace that she had made for her and then tori actually wore it at the show!!!! that was very exciting for the girl who made it!!! She was extra nice!! i listened to the show in my car she told some really nice stories and one really sassy one about telling off a restuarant manager in Boston. THe managered bragged about how they had raised 60,000 for a childrens charity and tori said well i'm not giving you 60,000 dollars.... although I COULD!!! everyone in the studio laughed it was so Cool! i'm sure the transcript is somewhere on the dent. After that I went to the venue met up with my friend Mike and saw all those wonderful people i see every year. I love that. I wish i could afford to go to the rest of the shows The meet and greet was so nice i got to be on the 2nd row and talk to her but i totally choked and sucked it up and couldnt say anything i wanted to say but hey maybe next time i'll pull through. Before the show someone gave me THE best compliment of my life!!!! and that made my month!! Every aspect of the day was magical! The show then blew me away! I got the absolute best spot when everyone rushed the stage after spring haze front and center squished against the stage!!! when tori left after spring haze she touch both my hands WHAT A NIGHT !!!!!! I didn't want to leave when it was over. If anyone from the show reads this and remembers me by email address is Fairywinged@aol.com i would love to hear from you. I forgot to get peoples email address and i would love to stay in touch with you guys. See everyone next year at the 2nd leg of the american tour.
