OCT. 29 - TORI WILL PERFORM ON THE LATE SHOW w/DAVID LETTERMAN (CBS) Tori must still have some status because she always seems to be able to get a booking right around whatever date her album is released. It's usually on The Late Show first too. I think that because she is more considered there. It's not a bureaucratic as at The Tonight Show. I suspect that she is doing Carson Daly and not The Tonight Show is because she's not with TW which also owns NBC so they have less of an incentive to get her on to the show and Carson Daly will let any decent act on since he has a band perform on EVERY single show unlike other shows. Having one interview and one performance is THE expectation of his audience. Without that it's just another show like all the others. >3. NOV. 2 - TORI WILL PERFORM ON NBC WEEKEND TODAY (NBC) 8 weeks! I'll die first! (not really) >4. NOV. 7 - HEADLINING TOUR WILL ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY BEGIN I only have four dates beginning on the 10th! Is there information you haven't told anyone about. TM has confirmed two dates the last I checked and there's one fairly reliable source for two others but I've not been able to confirm any others and thedent.com had no information the last time I checked and he's sent me nothing either even though I run a web site that primarily about nothing BUT her tours and not all that other news that sites like his cover. Once I get a date I go out and hunt down links and confirm what I can and I have no information on any date of the 7th to track down. >5. They are actually a division of a conglomerate that is also the nations second biggest radio station owner. In the Seattle area alone they own four radio stations. The are owned by Clear Channel Communications. CCE is their tour promotions division which is also fairly large.. I hope this clears up things for you a little bit. It's > usually on The Late Show first too. Indeed, at this point I would say I would be a little surprised were she *not* to begin doing the TV promo thing with Dave. I may as well also mention--and we can see how this turns out--many weeks back a friend told me that the Late Show people were hoping to interview her this time. Aside from the general affection Dave seems to have for her, they must have gotten the idea that she would be an interesting interview. Apparently this was being negotiated and I hope it's been worked out. I have no idea why Tori's people might *not* allow her to be interviewed, but I'm not getting my hopes up too much, either. This is a strange business. In the meantime, I have some screenshots from prior Letterman appearances which demonstrate the warmth with which Dave and Tori have greeted one another in the past: . > It's not a bureaucratic as at The Tonight Show. I suspect that she > is doing Carson Daly and not The Tonight Show is . . . No one said she isn't doing the Tonight Show. As of a week ago they had a tentative date but it wasn't locked down yet. They have every intention of doing the Tonight Show. They're looking to do Conan and Kilborn, too. And GMA, The View, Live with Regis and Kelly, etc. Just because it wasn't locked down in time for this trade paper advertisement to have been placed doesn't mean she isn't doing a particular program. > >4. NOV. 7 - HEADLINING TOUR WILL ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY BEGIN > > I only have four dates beginning on the 10th! Is there information > you haven't told anyone about. As of three days ago I heard that all the tour dates haven't been locked down, either. It's been strange to hear from various quarters that people are flipping out because of not having had the entire tour schedule released, but it simply hasn't existed *TO* be released. Should be real soon, though. In the meantime, Michael has pieced together some more dates, having gotten reports of concert listings on various websites, etc. > TM has confirmed two dates . . . All the concerts are not TM events, as in the example of the Oakdale in Wallingford. Really, the Dent has what Michael is able to work out reliably from people alerting him to things. He won't put something up unless he sees good conformable reasons to believe it, and he goes to a lot of effort to check the background of any reports he gets before he puts it up on the Dent so people can count on it to be reliable. Not all sites do the same, unfortunately, as this commercial site Mike Gray pointed me to demonstrates: . They list the title of the single as "A Kind Of Fairytale." I remember when MTV got the title of choirgirl wrong early on. I don't recall any glaring errors such as those being on the Dent--ever. Seriously--All Hail Mikewhy; The Man, The Legend. :-) Be seeing you, Richard Handal, H.G. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 15 Sep 2002 20:27:05 EDT From: Kurt658@aol.com Subject: Re: pre-sale seats In a message dated 9/15/2002 8:21:20 PM Eastern Standard Time, Abbuford@aol.com writes: > Am I the only one whose seats were horrible? Any thoughts? I wasn't pleased with my pre-sale seats... so I thought I'd get better when on the public onsale. So I went the day of the onsale, an hour or so before they went on sale, but luck was not with me. There were already about 10-15 people in line for some radio concert that was going on sale that same day, and the radio station was broadcasting live from the little record shop i was getting my tickets at. =( So I got way worse seats than I would have gotten with the pre-sale. And i didn't try upgrading my seats or anything after that. regardless, both shows i went to were wonderful!=D - -rob. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 15 Sep 2002 18:01:35 -0700 From: shaman@eskimo.com Subject: Re: password On Sun, 15 Sep 2002 08:35:26 -0700 (PDT), you wrote: >Last year the password for the pre-ticket sale was STRANGE.
