I was listening to this again. She also has some of "Spring Haze" and the live version of "Father Lucifer" like on Letterman and the Pele era. I couldn't pinpoint the "Lucifer" part for a bit. After a second and third listen it hit me. It was like the part she plays before she sang "turn away, run away, turn away". I'm glad it took me almost a year before I heard this for the first time. It is funny how the human mind works that way sometimes. 9/11 started to become a commercial magazine and bumper sticker-selling thing for me. I started rolling my eyes at it. I was really humbled by these words and some images played on CBS this past week. Thanks to whoever you were that originally posted these lyrics and brought this improv to my attention. Thank you so much. I needed a humbling. Thanks and Observations, Desiree ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Sep 2002 20:34:29 EDT From: Talula1982@aol.com Subject: Re: Fw: the best seats? Or is this the beginning piano of "Gold Dust"? Has someone mentioned that already? "Gold Dust" to me, has many images of WTC on 9/11/01. I also picture the following days w/ people holding pictures of their loved ones in their hands. I can't always stomach the song w/o tears flowing and heart falling. This is so strong, powerful ... those in the crowd must have been humbled. Hmm... Desiree > >That improv has a lot of meaning and weight for me. My eyes are old and bent", says I, feeling old because I can't recall even though it was just last year. (Yes, that's a Life of Brian quote.) I'd forget about getting a soundboard recording. Tori does those herself. That's how the live CD from TVAB was done. It IS the soundboard recording for her pervious tour. ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V7 #210 *************************************
