However, you can pick up "correct" versions in the UK very easily by buying the import version for less than the cost of the retail UK one [yes, that makes no sense!] from www.play.com (#9.49) for example. However this includes the "Tornado" mix. I'm unsure whether the version with the original version of Talula is still in print. I picked mine up in Toronto back in 1998 having singularly failed to find it in the UK, as I too was trying to replace my cassette version. But it's not -that- difficult for UK/Euro Toriphiles to get a BfP without the PW remix. They got the following releases of BfP: 1) The original, every song in its original form. 2) The reissue, with the tornado mix of Talula, but everything else the same. 3) The second reissue, missing ItSoHV and adding one of the endless PW remixes [1]. For a Toriphile who doesn't like the remixes, getting a copy of (1) or (2) is pretty easy. /nm [1] I just don't like that bloody mix. At least, not for listening at home. At a club, it's okay. But I think that changing the album like that ruins the flow. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 May 2002 12:00:24 -0400 From: Cyndi S Crawford Subject: Re: bfp >I'm not really disagreeing with you, since I hate that they removed ItSoHV. But it's not -that- difficult for UK/Euro Toriphiles to get a BfP without the PW remix.< Hmm.. well good. I'm just relating back to when I was a member (they've closed down since--don't ask me why) of the Michael Jackson Internet Fan Club and people constantly would be like "DOES *ANYBODY* have this or that?" ya know.. stuff like albums, singles, and whatnot.. it was kinda difficult, but once they made a connection with someone who did have (or at least had access to) what they wanted, then the only problem was money. (paying for it, shipping and handling, etc) and THEN.. *some* people were hoaxers! I could go on and on about this but I won't.. lol.. >[1] I just don't like that bloody mix. At least, not for listening at home. At a club, it's okay. But I think that changing the album like that ruins the flow.< you know, that's another thing that bothers me.. the Tornado mix--fine. Tori likes it better than the original. I can handle that *easily*.. but the other one that consequently forced the removal of ItSoHV.. *no*! bad! lol.. I still think remixes (in general.. not the ones that the artist might like even better--as long as it doesn't make other tracks be removed) should be left alone for the singles and EPs though.. cuz.. isn't that what they're for? Tori insisted that the tornado mix replace the original 'Talula'. Only the first pressing of BfP, in any country, has the original. At this point, you're pretty unlikely to find a new BfP with the original 'Talula'. However, given that there were 800,000 copies of the first pressing in the US alone, finding it isn't terribly difficult. If you're really interested in getting it, start trolling the used music shops. Fair warning: if you're looking for an original BfP -only- to have the original 'Talula', you -must- listen to it before you buy it. When the switch was made from the original to the tornado mix, there was an artwork problem. The back of the CD case still made it look like it was the original. It took a little bit for the artwork to change as well as the CD inside. [And, before anyone asks, if your copy of BfP has this error, it doesn't really change the value of the CD. The practical upshot is that, if you own a copy of BfP, its value is about identical to that of any other used CD. None of them are particularly valuable, even the artwork errors.] /nm ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 May 2002 22:34:00 -0400 From: Cyndi S Crawford Subject: Tori, two words. rofl..
