But when I was in highschool people would sometimes show me magazines and say "Hey look there is article about Tori Amos in here. Maybe they are a sort of farewell pressings because Tori left Atlantic? EBAY: Strange Little Girls: Chinese CD GOLD with I don4t Like Mondays Cover, It4s a PICTURE CD (same as the cover), with slipcase. Also there is another version of this cd that claims to have bonus tracks ( cornflake girl, Smells like teen spirit and Crucify). Also a VERY rare Boys For Pele CD GOLD made in Asia. IT has Tori4s name on the cover in both Chinese and English as well as the album tittle and says in a part of the cover the words in English "Beauty Queen"... It has the round hologram that Chinese imports usually have. Oh!, when I say CD GOLD I am NOT saying CD-Rs but special OFFICIAL GOLD PRINTINGS. Also on Ebay was a BEAUTIFULLLLLLLLLLLL Double lp Green Transparent BOYS FOR PELE Album Well, that4s all ; if Some want to comment on this I would love to, (Myst, Richard!) See ya4 all Daniel ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 Mar 2002 15:53:30 -0500 From: Subject: Re: A lot of rare Tori Cds On Thu, 28 Mar 2002 15:20:48 +0900 cdrv wrote: > Yesterday I was surfing trough EBAY and Eil- > spirit and I came across some pretty unique > Tori items: [snip the list of gold CDs] They're not actually 'farewells' because she's leaving Atlantic. They're all pirated CDs. Most CDs that are of Chinese or Taiwanese origin are not legitimate releases, they're pirates. They're not made by Atlantic, and none of the profits from them end up back in Tori's pocket. Don't mistake the Chinese or Taiwanese CDs for Japanese CDs. Japanese CDs -are- legitmate releases. Japanese CDs often have an extra track or two on them. This is to entice Japanese consumers to buy the local releases instead of importing them, because it's actually often cheaper to buy an import than it is to buy the local release. HTH. :) /nm ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 Mar 2002 21:55:36 +0900 From: "cdrv" Subject: Re: A lot of rare Tori Cds Thanks Nadyne for the Info! You so are right, I went to see the pic on Ebay again, of the Boys for pele Taiwanese Import and on the cover instead of saying actually BEAUTY QUEEN it is spelled BEANUTY QUEEN. so I guess an official release would not have spelling mistakes... Now I am quite amazed by two things: 1- The fact that Taiwanese, and Chinese pirates are VERY WELL produced, as far as having a booklet with pics and additional lyrics in Chinese and a hard cover slipcase.... 2- The Fact that piracy is easy to get in Asia, Because Bootlegs are not quite easy to get in America as they are ilegal, and let4s face they are quite bad produced.
