Yesterday I downloaded the sample of Rattlesnakes from Tori's Beauty and a Gun and what I have heard sounds really awesome! I can see this song being a single. I know I've only heard 30 seconds of it but I really like-I would buy the album just to hear that song. Everything from the new album that I have heard so far (SLG, 97 B&C, HOG) sounds great. I can't wait for this album!!! Andrew p.s. Does Rattlesnakes remind anyone else of Sheryl Crow? I don't know why but it does me. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Aug 2001 10:31:39 -0400 From: "ali" Subject: Tori tix For those of you who have already purchased tickets for a Tori concert, do you suggest using the presale option or waiting until they go on sale to the general public? Just wondering. this is just conjecture but it seems that there is an allotment of tickets, taken from throughout each venue, which are sold during the pre-sale. it seems there are some good tickets available but because of the pre-sle rush, they disappear quickly. so, i would think if the best you can find during the pre-sale aren't great seats, you might want to wait untilthe beginning of the general sale. however, it is also worth noting that you need not feel locked into the first batch of tickets that ticketmaster offers you. during the new york pre-sale, i would just reload that page and often find better tickets being offered. so, "best available seats" means best available at the moment you request them. since there's a zillion people requesting tickets at once, you might hit it just when all that is available is back row. hit reload and you might find that someone else rejected some better seats which are now available for you. the best advice i can offer is to familiarize yourself with the venue's seating chart and figure out where you want to sit. then, try the pre-sale and see if you can get something that is acceptable for you. if you get something, take it. if you don't, keep trying and maybe something will come up. if nothing ever does, decide if you'd rather be happy with a seat in a spot you might not prefer versus trying your luck during the general sale. woj ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Aug 2001 19:35:32 EDT From: Mysterilady2001@cs.com Subject: Happy 38th Birthday Tori ~ Hi ya EWF ~ First off - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TORI!!! (Yippppeee! Partaaay! :::throwing confetti::: :::drinking bubbly::: Hooray! WaaaHooo!!! YEAH!) Secondly - Geez! A girl goes away on holiday & the whole Tori world goes Bombastic! I had 10 days of PT to catch up on over the weekend - Passwords, secret sale dates, show dates *liberated*, sold out shows, added shows, canceled show, extra tickets for sale, EWF seeking tickets, small tour - only one non-US date, cool new news ring code, early press on SLG is favorable, Caton rumors, mp3's, RAINN auction, exactly who was Tori talking about regarding the "MMF" RAINN show? BRAK ref's Tori... PLUS Tori Birthday Bash's all over the world! WHEW!!! Soooo much to injest. I was pleased to see our California dates - with plenty of room for added LA shows - were after our wedding & honeymoon :-) I do get to go to at least one show this tour. While I'd normally travel to see extra shows its a no go this time around as our 3 weeks away is in the middle of the tour. Its ok really, I shouldn't be greedy and take more than my share of tix this time. The venues are smaller than recent past tours plus the fact that the tour is smaller this time. Tix in some major cities are going for 300.-600.+ per set on eBay so I urge all of u waiting for your city to go on sale to get the presale pass for that week and pick yours up then. I hope everyone on PT who wants to see her this time gets to go. Great luck everyone :-) In the meantime we await the week left till London. We expect reports RTA - (Richard, Legendary "Morris Dancer") & anyone else here who's going. As for me --- I've been on holiday with my fiance Jim. We went to Ireland - to an absolutely wonderful place called Kilmore Quay - where Jim was born. We stayed at Jims family farm that is literally located on the Irish seashore, and slept in the very room where Jim was born - isn't that romantic Ladies! We saw an Irish castle, drove through miles and miles of sweeping green hills, witnessed an incredible number of gorgeous hydrangeas in bright pinks and purples growing wild & saw a million signs advertising the country's most popular libation - Guinness! One day we visited the biggest local town, Wexford, to go shopping. At the bookshop we picked up a couple local papers. While flipping through the Wexford Echo who do I run into an article on but TORI! (Jim says I can't get away no matter how far I go (hehe :-) The article is titled "Tori takes a Strange angle on men" and is written by Ronald Fagan. The article takes a positive light on Tori, the album & its message. It also lists a discography, many Tori quotes and SLG tour info. While nothing new is revealed and the pic used is from old TVAB press stuff, I found the articles title truly great! She is referred to as simply Tori. She's a household name there. Tori. Like Cher or Madonna. Tori. OUR Tori :-) Isn't that Fabulous Toodles ~ MysT *As for Brak & Space Ghost Coast to Coast --- (For Micah Dearest :-) Below is a funny Tori-worthy SGC2C link. It's been given here before, nothing new to a seasoned EWF. But for newbies or folks who missed it last time its a special goodie that might just give ya the giggles :-) (Have a sense of humor please, those whacky Space Ghost fans are looney-tunes. Dent in Tori's Ass kind of fun. Did I mention I'm a fan? ... meaning... MysT persuades... get a grip & smile people :-) http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/m/j/mjf195/music/trivial/sgnin.html **Finally - When in Ireland steer the hell clear of black pudding. No matter how appetizing it looks or how yummy someone says it is - DON'T EAT IT! If you don't know what it is, look it up. However, be warned, do so on an empty stomach. Jim sat across the table from me every morning eating it!!! Taunting me, asking me everyday to "just try it Tess." Oh, hell no Romeo! No can do, I KNOW what's in there! BLAH! PATOOOIE! GAG! Mans lucky he even got to snuggle up next to me after eating that crap, let alone kiss me! White pudding is OK though, I ate that. It's harmless. Fish there is awesome, as is the tea. Somehow simple things taste amazing when you can breathe fresh air. I currently live in Los Angeles. Smog affects more than I ever realized. Taste, smell, skin, more I'm sure - It explains A LOT about my brain huh :-) Yeah, I know most of you are nodding. *** HAPPY BIRTHDAY TORI! * HAPPY BIRTHDAY TORI! *** ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Aug 2001 20:59:34 EDT From: Basilikus@aol.com Subject: Clearwater tix I keep going on Ticketmaster for Clearwater tix and choosing Best Available. Last Update... The SoCal RAINN Event is just two short days away!! The benefit takes place August 24th (Friday) at 6:30 at Quest Studios in Santa Monica, 1919 Broadway Street. Ticket sales are going GREAT and it’s already clear the SoCal RAINN Event will be a success. But we want to push the envelope… there is no such thing as raising too much for RAINN! We’d love to sell the place out so with that in mind we are excited to offer a limited incentive. We’re grateful to those of you who have kept up with our updates and followed our progress. We want to meet each and everyone Tori fan in the Los Angeles area, even the ones that cannot spend $50 on one evening even if it IS for a great cause. That’s why right now we’re pleased to HALF PRICE admission to the first ten people to respond to this posting. Email SoCalRAINNevent@aol.com. We’ll leave your name at the will call table at the event so our volunteers know you need only to pay $25 a person, $50 a pair! For six performances, dinner, makeovers and gift bags worth $40, that’s not a bad deal! And 100% of that will go directly to RAINN. If you! 217;re reading this late, please still email! Don’t automatically assume you aren’t in the first ten because we aren’t sure what kind of response we’ll get. Remember, the event will include musical performances by Lili Haydn, Chris Laterzo, Tiffany Kyees, Joe 90 (as heard on tour with Counting Crows and on WB's Felicity), Faith and the Muse in their only U.S. show of their tour, and a special performance by husband and wife team Harry Shearer (of "Spinal Tap" and "The Simpsons") and Judith Owen. Other highlights of the event will include: complimentary makeovers from SkinMarket, a charity auction featuring items donated by Angelina Jolie, Radiohead, Henry Rollins, X-Large and more, and a prize drawing that each guest will automatically be entered into. The guests will also be treated to a dinner buffet supplied by local cateringcompanies and restaurants. Please visit http://members.aol.com/socalrainnevent to find out more information and to purchase tickets for the prize drawing, which includes items retailing over $2000. This is a great chance to meet other Torifans and members of the community while raising money and awareness for RAINN and celebrating the birthday of the wonderful woman who started it all. RAINN needs our help very much so now's the time to show them just how supportive Torifans can be. Please call us at 323-850-1228 with any questions, and visit our website (http://members.aol.com/socalrainnevent) or email us at SoCalRAINNEvent@aol.com. Hope to see you there!
