LB ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Aug 2001 01:44:34 EDT From: XXXPandora@aol.com Subject: Happy Birthday Tori Party in Miami Hello :) I am one of the hosts of the Happy Birthday Tori party in Miami to benefit RAINN. This party is one of the nine official big city birthday bashes that are trying to raise $25,000 each. Our event, called Strange Little Bands - A Tori Amos Tribute, will be held on August 30th at Club 5922 in South Miami (the club is on US1, right by Sunset Place). The doors will open at 8pm and tickets to the event are $7.00 presale for everybody and $10 for people who are 18 -20, and $7 for over 21 at the door. The event will be centered around a tribute show featuring 8 local bands each performing one Tori cover and one original song. We will be recording the show for a future RAINN benefit CD Compilation of the Tori Covers, which we will be pre-selling at the show and online afterwards. We will also be having a raffle and silent auction with some really cool items donated by some really cool people like Neil Gaiman, Bob Masse and Uncle Sam's Musicafe. Please come to our event, please pass this on to everyone you know, please visit our website for more information. You can donate all sorts of ways. The only thing you have to remember is that you are donating through our party #155! To send us checks directly, make them out to RAINN and send them to this address: RAINN Fundraiser Miami #155 PO BOX 450103 Miami, FL 33245-0103 Website: www.strangelittlebands.homestead.com other links: www.rainn.org www.happybirthdaytori.com Strange Little Bands: Tori Amos Tribute August 30th Club 5922 5922 South Dixie Highway South Miami email: RAINNfundraiser@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Aug 2001 18:16:34 -0000 From: "Wendi" Subject: caton? So, I know that it was discussed a while back that Caton was not working on the new album...and I can't seem to remember if it was on the list someone had mentioned that he had said that he would never work with Tori again. Anyway, my point being is that I was in Hot Topic the other day and the girl who is the manager there and I started talking about Tori and the new album and how Caton wasn't working on it. Well, she said that the break between the two was supposedly very bitter. And that there was a website somewhere that you could actually read his letter of resignation and that it was not very nice on his part. So I was like 'alright', you know, wondering how the hell *she* knew all of this. I searched Google and came up with nothing and went to Atlantic Records but again came up with nothing. So, I was just wondering if anyone on the list knew anything about it, or if she is just crazy. I don't think she is a very credible source...but I could be wrong. Well, I do, and Brak is my favorite character in the whole wide world. He's not on much anymore, and I don't know why, but I do miss him dearly and go to his websites regularly, for anything.. an update.. ? a scheduled appearance in my city? My dreams have long been shattered, yet I keep this false hope.. anyway, he made a Tori reference, and it's just weird to see someone so silly refer to her. here ya go: http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/spaceghost/cod/brak/051199/index.html stuff, micah ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Aug 2001 19:21:50 -0400 From: nadyne@mindspring.com Subject: ToriCon RAINN auction The ToriCon RAINN auction is open for bidding! Yes! That's what I was saying.. She says something along the lines of: "You know, the very first person I sang this song to is here tonight, and I haven't sang this to him since probably that night. So.. HAH!" Something that like :) But yea, is that person Maynard, or isn't it? Thanks Becka, you can decypher my in-between thoughts. I owe ya one. Matthew. NP: Kid A.
