OK, I gotta say - that really bugs me. I don't think its anyone's right to declare another's thoughts/words irrelevant. People have a right to post their thoughts, even if you don't agree with them. You can debate their post if you choose, but I think its crap to declare what they say irrelevant. I support everyone voicing their opinion, whether I agree with them or not. I also think its crap for people to get personal, call names, become vicious, etc., simply because you don't agree with them. Stay on topic & debate the topic, don't tear down the person. Take his statement apart - Winter to Datura - Almost exactly the same IF you turn OFF the CD OR POUR MOLTEN LEAD in your EARS (i.e., THEN you cannot HEAR the songs at all!) He was saying they are VASTLY different, that Tori's music has changed BIG time from Winter & her Little Earthquake days to Datura & her Venus days. What YOU said about them being NIL alike is EXACTLY what my friend was saying - in his sarcastic, smart way. See it now? Yeah, that's it! Toodles ~ MysT *ROLO's now that's some good candy eatin'! Um, someone needs to diagnose those sounds a little better...cuz those songs are NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NIL alike. I for one respect all opinions. I adore Tori's work and, to me, it's progressed in a way that I'm happy with (Subjective comment). Each album takes a while to get into then it hit's you and that's that. Me, I quite like that in that I never know what to expect. The treat for me is the way that she takes time and makes the effort with the albums to try to go somewhere new rather than re-treading old ground. There is obviously going to be a thread linking them because all of the compositions are coming from the same person, that's why some songs could be on any of the albums. I can see the thread regarding the live stuff and the way she performs but, unlike in the studio, she has to perform as herself and she is as she is. The way she plays and sings is NEVER going to alter as that is her style. Look at any musician - Whatever the album is and what's on it, come the live show they're still pulling the same faces, doing the same moves - it goes with the turf :-) I guess that if you like it, it's "their style" and if you don't it's "Samey" ..... Each to their own, or wouldn't the world be SOOOOOOO boring :-) A little quickie to AJ, who I thought made some good comments : "whoa...he compared winter to datura? Um, someone needs to diagnose those sounds a little better...cuz those songs are NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NIL alike. AJ" That's IRONY (a British thing) - LOL :-) RTA _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V6 #94 ************************************
