Adrian Belew?! Okay. Lemme tell a story. When I was a college freshman back in 1989, I was, for a very short time, a Christian music freak and a big-time evangelist, knocking on dorm room doors and with my little 4-step "how to get into heaven" card that Baptists carry. Ugh! Anyway, WAY past that now (was just a phase I was going through to impress a really cute Baptist), but he took me to a concert, and I swear the name of the Christian music singer/awesome guitarist was Adrian Belew. He really could rock, and had about 10 guitars on stage and headed a band (I can't remember the name of that band now). Could this be the SAME GUY? How weird! But if Amy Grant can cross over-- but STILL. Just doesn't seem like Tori to go after a guy like this. - -jen Get email at your own domain with Yahoo! Just a correction: 1) Dead Can Dance is not really "acoustic Delerium." Delerium is entirely different in terms of feel and direction. Both are introspective, yes, but one's meant for the dancefloor and once's meant for the meditation chamber. 2) "Persian Love Song" is on Lisa Gerrard's solo record "The Mirror Pool." It is not a DCD song. > Kristin Hersh > Very Ani Difranco-ish. Not at all. Kristin Hersh does sing and play guitar but that's about where the comparisons end. Hersh's songs are inspired quite often by her bipolar condition and hence sometimes don't make a lot of logical sense. She uses metaphors in some ways like Tori does. At first you go "huh??" but deep down, it makes sense. Beth - -- "I am lost inside your pocket. I am lost against your fingers. I am falling down the stairs. I am skipping on the sidewalk.
