There's one particular scene where Jeneane Garofalo's character is walking back behind a brick wall to smoke a cigarette in between classes. There's a grunge-sounding song that's playing in the background and it sounds like the guy is singing something like "Blood Roses". Has anyone else seen this movie and noticed this. I've wondered for a long time if this had anything to do with Tori's Blood Roses but have always forgot to ask. I have a question for the Tori collectors out there. I was in Hot Topic the other and saw the Under the Pink vinyl, and I was puzzled because I thought there was no UtP vinyl in the US. It didn't say "import" or anything on it. I ended up buying it anyway because it was only 9 bucks. Was the UtP vinyl released in the US for a limited time or something? Is it worth anything? I don't knnow if this has been discussed before, but it seems to me that the two are sister songs. Tori said that widow is about a woman that gives up everything feminine in order to attain some goal, gain power (I don't know the exact quote). Both seem to feature a deadly and remorseless woman ("Too bad the burial was premature she said and smiled"). Ok, so what are our thoughts on this? lauren15@hotmail.com http://www.geocities.com/lilya8 "The way I see, I was really fortunate to get a serious head dunking when I was baptized. In regard to shows we wished were videotaped vs. Concert for RAINN, I have two I prefer more than the RAINN MSG show. First I'd like to say I've seen Tori live in half a dozen states & on more occasions than I have fingers & toes but I don't really know what was up that night. I remember waiting on pins 'n needles for the show to begin. Mostly it was a good show but I gotta say - What the hell was up with the DANCING??? Oddest damn thing I ever did see her do! Kinda looked like a tribal/squiggle/theres-something-in-my-pants-biting-me type dancing. I was with friends + my kids and I have to admit I went stony faced. (Just until she stopped.) It's nothing I've ever seen her do. Sure, when she walks out she kinda shimmies & grooves a bit for the audience but then its time to play & she cuts right in to the opening song already in motion. This time she did a full-tilt dance number thing! It threw me for a loop. Anyway, almost every performance has a personal specialness to it for me & its not always Tori's performance. There was one special time in Wallingford, CT when my best friend Gary & I went to see her together for the first time - it made that show shine for me. Then there was the first show I took my then 11 year old daughter to. But if its shows that are special & deserving of video I think its 2 of the LA shows Sept '98. In the first LA show at the Pond Tori COOKED! Absolutely the most perfect show I ever did see. The energy was awesome. But the show I'll always remember fondly is the Greek show a few days later. It was a very emotional show and it revealed for all us a side of Tori that rarely is seen. I don't want to sound all weirdo-fan-crazy but I felt she kinda felt we all were her intimate friends that night. Those that were there know. I've mentioned the show before so I won't go anymore into detail. If I could pick two shows I'd pick those. But if I could pick just one it would be the September 22,1998 Greek show - it was just that amazing. Tori's coming out into public soon to record... so... Maybe we'll see baby pic's soon Toodles ~ MysT "At 30 I feel ready to have a child, although I don't intend to stop my career." ~T.A. *** ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V6 #42 ************************************
