Subject: tori on once and again on the abc (i think. might be cbs) show once and again, they played about half of winter :) its on tuesday nights at 10, eastern time :) then the girl burst into tears at the end of it. aww. *S* it was so great! my favourite show is now DEFINEATELY my most favourite , cause they played tori :) sarah http://www.sapphirebelle.com/sarah/ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Jan 1980 10:27:58 +0200 From: "Fog" Subject: Re: Eternal Footman Someone remarked on this, I'm not sure who, but she said that the eternal footman theme was alluding to death doing something unusual and totally out of character, like riding a bike. Since the first lines go "don't want to be a boy today", meaning he doesn't want to be strong or manly for once, it's like death getting a bicycle is a justification for the character in the song (Greg) being sensitive, I suppose. Anyway, everyone must be sick of this by now, so I'm sorry, but I just couldn't resist putting my two cents in. - ------------------------------------------------------------- Love you so much it makes me sick come on over and we'll do the twist beat me outta me Fog ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Dec 1999 10:28:08 -0800 From: "s.a.f." I've got a really good interview from MuchMusic I think where the interviewer is really knowledgeable on Tori's music and she asks Tori a bunch of really good questions....Tori opens right up to her and talks all about Pele - it's the best interview I've ever seen. Also, if you pay attention, I think Tori responds to each interviewer cautiously, depending on the mood of the interview. For instance, in the Rosie O'Donnell interviews - in the first one where Tori SATY right after the RAINN show, Rosie was very friendly and into Tori, singing to her and telling her she loved her music - it came off as really sincere and Tori seemed relaxed and comfortable and told Rosie to come backstage next time she went to a show. However, on the next Rosie show, the one around Christmas last year, Rosie seemed more - kiss-uppy...if you know what I mean...she said something about liking the new album (a general comment rather than last time when she sang to her) and was kind of making jokes not paying attention really to Tori's story about being married and it looked like Tori was visibly more standoffish... in the recent Rosie, Tori seemed more relaxed - you could really tell from her enthusiastic telling of the Phil the Savior story :) -since it seemed to me that Rosie was paying more attention to her. I think Tori just reacts very humanly to the emotions of the interviewer..as opposed to stars who are groomed to be polite regardless of the host. my too sense :) Lisa ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Dec 1999 21:17:37 -0500 From: "Kristy" Subject: Tori in the Penn State catalogue...LOL! Wow, this was strange! I went to a college fair late last October, and I'm looking into Penn State. *So*, I got their catalogue thinger in the mail today, and whom do I find mentioned not once, but *twice*? Why, our lovely Tori! :D They have a good part of the catalogue devoted to happenings from the '98-99 school year at University Park (the main campus). actually, they called it the "highlights" of the year. So I'm reading along, and for Nov. 21, it reads "Tori Amos performs in the Bryce Jordan Center." I nearly spit my Mt. Dew on the catalogue! :D And as for the second time, in another part they list the performers who played at the BJC that year...and the first listed was Tori. :o) The artists were in no particular order, so I enjoyed the fact that Tori was listed first. (and she wasn't the first to play there that year, either..so i have no idea in what method they were listed, it wasn't alphabetically...hmm..) But I just thought you guys might enjoy that...and if you're a weirdo like me and enjoy such tori paraphernalia, go to the PSU website, http://www.psu.edu , and request a catalog for university park. hell, even if you aren't going into college, get one. it's free, and it's just rather funny. :o) Love and Sparkles, Kristy (\o/) "They're not Ears With Feet, they're Assholes With Tickets." ~~*the lovely Amy Webb, aka WyrdWoman §Visit my Tori Amos website, at http://fly.to/behindmyeyes§ *My homepage: http://www.geocities.com/tori_choirgirl "rolling and unrolling coiling emerging running free running through the underworld into your room..." ~*Tori Amos ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V4 #376 *************************************
