Eliot poem called the eternal footman (again, i don't know which). i wonder if she has read any Eliot? >> That is so odd that someone else brought this up, but just last Friday, we were discussing this poem by T.S. Eliot in my British Literature class - it's called "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" -- It's a beautiful poem, and the line is "And I have seen the eternal Footman hold my coat, and snicker, And in short, I was afraid." So, of course, I ran up to my professor after class and asked him about it, and he said he didn't know about Tori's reference, but that in this particular poem Eliot is referring to Death -- And after pondering over PGY, I'm still not seeing the connection - Perhaps someone else does? If anyone wants me to transcribe the entire Eliot poem and send it out to the list, I will... - -Noelle- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Dec 1999 08:04:17 -0500 (EST) From: Ellen Morris Subject: Re: Millenium Poll (fwd) ok all, now i really goofed now only did i forget to include the web address, but i responded to respark who asked me what the site was and forgot to cc it to the lists but here i am forwarding the web sites for that millenium poll i mentioned thanks, all ellen _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ |~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~| The moon has set _______ and the Pleiades; ((_______)) it is the middle of the night | | | | and the hours go by | | | | and i lie here | | | | alone | | | | - -sappho | | _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ |_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~| - ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Thu, 16 Dec 1999 08:00:34 -0500 (EST) From: Ellen Morris To: RedSpark18@aol.com Subject: Re: Millenium Poll On Wed, 15 Dec 1999 RedSpark18@aol.com wrote: > what site is it? am i that out of it that i forgot to add the website duh squared me. i really need a vacation i guess. here is the webpage everyone, and i think that this is the voting bit even though they call it nominees http://www.fm1063.com/frames.html you can also email directly: promotions@fm1063.com subject title: Millenium Countdown message: list your 5 picks sorry everyone that i am a little not so with it these days toodles, ellen ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V4 #370 *************************************
