It was a Case of You, I was always under the impression that Tori write this song, I actually have a tape which says that she is rumored to have written it for Trent Reznor. I was wondering if I was the only one who was mistaken about this. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 6 Dec 1999 13:11:17 +0000 (GMT) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Copper=20to=20Steel?= Subject: Tori Tribute Album Hello This has probably been mentioned before but since I'm dead thick I haven't realised. I was looking through all the music store sites on the Internet and I found a CD called 'Pretty Good Years: A Tribute to Tori Amos'. What the hell? I couldn't get anymore information other than it was VERY cheap to buy (I saw it for £3 on Boxman) which doesn't enlighten me very much!!!! There I was, listening to the "Tribute" to Kate Bush CD that my boyf had ordered from some obscure record label (a double album for the usual price of a CD single) and saying how bizarre it was, because it was Kate Bush's best bits being done in the style of... well, Kate Bush really, and saying "what's the point of doing 2 albums worth of covers that are almost the same but not quite..." when the magazine I'm flicking through falls open on a page saying "Order Both The Greatest 6CD Sets of Banging House Anthems [or something] and get this 'Tribute to Tori Amos absolutely free!" (there was also a Blondie and Kylie Minogue one) The box sets came to £22 so wasn't really interested but I might see if I can order the Tori disc from HMV if it's as cheap as the Kate one. Anyone know anything about this? Doesn't Tori own the rights to her songs through her ownership of her own publishing company (Sword & Stone)? Can anyone release Tori covers without her permission, or should they have her approval? There is a small picture of her in the index, and a section on FROCK beginning on 62 (fashionable rock artists I think). SO there's a little paragraph on her and a beautiful picture....really nice. The paragraph (I just skimmed it quickly) mentions her saying that her fashion influence is Anne Boleyn because she wasn't afraid to mix things up a bit and that she always performs in heels because it makes her performance sharper.... that's all I remember but I will peruse it again at a later time. take care heather ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 06 Dec 1999 15:45:39 PST From: "ashley revlett" Subject: ten of swords and choirgirl i was going through my tarot cards when the ten of swords caught my eye. On the card is a guy lying face down with ten swords through his back. His right hand (the only one you can see) is in a fist, except for his index and middle finger, which are sticking up. It's the exact same hand pose tori has in the choirgirl booklet where she's lying on her face and all you can see is her back! With her left hand she's flipping someone off, and with her right she's making the same hand gesture the guy in the ten of swords is!! so i looked up the meaning for the ten of swords, and it means "pain, affliction, tears, sadness, desolation." That's what tori was feeling when she lost the baby. The hand that's flipping someone off means that's she's angry too, that she's mad that the baby didn't want her to be her mom. See, it all fits! I was so excited when i figured it out. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but if so it's an eerie one. just thought i'd share... ashley. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 6 Dec 1999 13:50:22 EST From: Amazon8502@aol.com Subject: Re: precious-things-digest V4 #359 In a message dated 12/6/99 12:23:02 AM Central Standard Time, owner-precious-things-digest@smoe.org writes: > Hi Everybody ... > > Apologies for asking to confirm this, but Tori is on The View on the 8th, > right? Let me tell you, it doesn't hurt as much as people say it does. Of course, there is a sharp pinch and a pressure as the needle goes though so you will be a little uncomfortable and your eyes will tear up, but its not bad at all. Matter of fact I am having outpatient eye surgery on the 17th and I am wondering if I should take it out and let it heal up and do it again because I want the hole in a different position. The piercer pierced it a little too low for my tastes and I'd rather have it closer to my face rather than my nostril. It's hard to explain in words, but I hope I am expressing myself well. I think if you really want it you should go ahead and do it!!
