I know for a fact she lives in England but I've never heard about her living in a castle. Is it true? If so are there pictures of it? Thanks. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Nov 1999 09:35:38 EST From: JDSCHNEIDR@aol.com Subject: Looning for a concert Hi all! I'm looking for a copy of a Tori concert from August 26, 1996 at the Garden States Arts Center, Holmdel, NJ. If you have any information could you please e-mail it to me? I think it's both. She has changed VERY much. Mainly with the instrumentation used and the style of the songs. BUT, I think that there has not been a significant (if any) decrease in quality of the songs. Choirgirl was just as good as anything else. You should give it a few more listens. Put it on shuffle or something so you get a different feel for them. iieee is one of the best songs I've ever heard. And Playboy Mommy. And Northern Lad. And She's Your Cocaine is a great rocker, like PW, Waitress, and Precious in the past. Northern Lad has all the emotion of Winter, Jupiter, and Baker Baker. I honestly think you need to listen to Choirgirl more. Listen to the live versions and see if you can compare them to the older material. Now Venus is a whole different story. It's different. With the exception of Bliss, Concertina, Lust, and Oceans, there aren't many big melodies like the past albums. I think Tori was consciously doing this. She's trying different things. I think with Venus she was putting more emphasis on the instrumentation used and the new technical stuff she found out how to do. Big melodies would have taken away from that, and even sounded awkward. Just think of Winter with a trip-hop beat and echo effects. I just can't see it. I think Venus works better than you're seeing it. Personally, I like Venus more than Pink. *shrug* Juarez just makes it all worth it. Basically just give Choirgirl and Venus another chance. Listen to them more. Watch Storytellers (or Sessions) and see if you notice a significant difference in quality between iieee and Precious Things. I certainly don't. Sure, they're two completely different songs, but I don't think Tori has sacrificed quality at all with her last two releases. WOW, that was longer than I wanted. :-) Matthew be my singing lesson. be my song. when I tell you I'm falling you tell me I'm strong. Python King is a boy. :) I've traded with him several times, and haven't had an issue. He's always been very good about keeping in email contact, and sends things quickly. /nad ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V4 #355 *************************************
