Jay seems to like Tori much more than say, David Letterman, and vice versa. He's kinda goofy slow, but that's just Jay Leno. You can kinda tell that they get along, whereas with David Letterman it's like, ugh. At least Leno actually TALKS to Tori. bye bye j ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 25 Sep 1999 04:07:34 GMT From: zoey68@mindspring.com (pani) Subject: Re: letterman way back when LOL!!!! She is telling someone to leave her garden alone "get out of my garden" or she will wreck their world "dividing canaan piece by piece", which is probably a reference to what happened after the Hebrews moved into Canaan after the Exodus. They captured the land, and then divided it among the 12 tribes (well, 11--Levi didn't get land because they ran the temple in Jerusalem) but still 12, because joseph was divided into 2 tribes, menassah and ephraim. and no one is going to take over Tori's garden. a girl has to protect her garden, you can't let bully's come trampling in and ruining everything and if they do, Tori's troops will make you sorry. She is gaurding her soul, the music marches like soldiers around her whirling around her, maybe soldier fairies, flittering around her catching the rye as she does a head count of each flower in her garden, "frangipani" apparently didn't answer "here" fast enough though, maybe a straying piece of her she needs to keep an eye on, because she repeats it as if she is the teacher of a class of kids with one not listening up. she says it again "frangipani" (and i think she is calling me! pani!) and in the middle she slows down and says; and of course we know which part of Tori's garden "Clitora Blue Pea" is..girl's gotta protect her sex too! "is there room in my heart for you to follow your heart and not need more blood from the tip of your star" as if to say; why must you leech off me like this, go tend your own garden... The whole thing is kind of funny to me because i just had an argument with my sister 2 weeks ago about her wanting to plant in my garden at my parents house which i started there and with her usual fight for best daughter, she ran out and bought boring old ugly mums and i told her not to plant them in MY garden.... and my name is close to that of frangipani, i always think "UH!! Tori is telling me to protect the things that matter to me!" frangipani frangipani!! and Datura, i believe, not sure, is a flower with medicinal ingredients and is a hallucinogen...which to me could mean she is medicating, taking care of her garden. It's my favorite song, at the moment. I'm going to wear a hole in my CD. I'd already bought the album but the guy was offering it for free, so I couldn't say no. He does reviews for a student magazine and he'd got it sent to him, and he knew I was a fan. It's got a card 1 sheet inlay with the same front cover on the front and the track listing and the release date on the back. It only has disc one-Venus Orbiting-and the cd is plain except for the Atlantic symbol and the title. The bottom of the cd is blue. Now I don't know much about cd's so this might seem a stupid question but are promos ever valuable (or do they get valuable if you hold on to them)? If I ever sold it how much should I ask for? Thanks, Danny ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 25 Sep 1999 15:42:52 +0200 From: "Bas van der Linden / Wim Bax" Subject: Re: Riot Poof I read a lot of speculations about RIOT POOF lately. The one and only truth (huh ?) is that the title of this song was inspired by Tori's dutch sound engineer Marcel: RIOT POOF is an exact translation of the dutch slang word: "relnicht", which doesn't exist in english. It means "extravagant gay male / queer" or something like that. Tori told the dutch magazine "Oor" that Marcel "came out of the closet" lately. But to her the song is more about the fact that one part of her family was the conquerer and the other part was conquered (americans against indians), but you have to see that people can come from both sides, i.o.w. can be both victims and excecutioners. well, hope this makes a little more sense...
