I've never gotten a > really good answer to this question. I've been a picture framer for many years, and to tell you the truth, it's just a fancy word for "print". Lithography is the most common method of printing, but can be done with many different techniques. Here's a technical definition if you're interested: Lithography was discovered at the end of the 1700's. It is a process that is based on the fact that grease and water do not mix. On a smooth stone or plate the image is drawn with a greasy crayon or painted with a greasy ink called tusche. The surface is covered with water, which is attracted only to the blank areas, and then inked. The ink adheres to the greasy areas. A press is rolled over the stone or plate to transfer the image onto the paper. BTW...this sounds like a laborious process...but today the same principals are done completely by machine. Hope that helped some. :-) RJ alias-Merman- "I guess I'm an underwater thing, so I guess I can't take it personally" - -Tori Amos- "Always forgive your enemies--nothing annoys them so much." - -Oscar Wilde- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Sep 1999 21:56:45 -0400 From: "Emily W. I was a little disappointed not to hear that good Blood Roses version again, but the setlist was pretty good. She played Upside Down as her first secret time song and said that though it was kind of silly, she was inspired to play this song probably because of this place. You know, "Cincinatti, I like the word. . ." Anyway, here's the setlist: God Little Amsterdam Cornflake Girl Bliss Cruel Little Earthquakes secret time: Upside Down Hey Jupiter Concertina Juarez Spacedog The Waitress Precious Things It definitely wasn't my favorite show on the tour that I've seen, but it was good to see Little Amsterdam with the band. And she also said this was the first time for her to play UD on the tour. But why i really wrote. My friend Ben that goes to Univ of KY (anyone else???) saw her parents there and went up to say hi to them and talked to them for about five minutes. His comment, "They were both SO nice!" And she said that Tori's dad talked about how there are words or something in the background of Datura and they are symbols, something like that. Also, she said he just raved about 1000 Oceans, how he thinks that is one of her best songs so far. That's what reminded me of him telling me about how he talked to them - all the arguing here about whether or not the song is good. Me personally, it's not one of my favorites. It's ok, though. OK, I must go study engineering now! That is what I thought the first time I heard it. It is in the same category of Silent All These Years and The Doughnut Song.
