I don't think that it's particularly fair to compare the M&Gs on the first three tours with the Plugged and 5-1/2 Weeks tours. In Athens, GA, in 1996, when I attended the M&G, there were exactly 6 people there. In Atlanta, GA, in 1998, when I (attempted to) attend the M&G, there were well over 100 people there. To say that the M&Gs worked "perfectly fine without the number system" is completely ignoring the huge difference in the number of people attempting to meet Tori. My issue with the numbering system really isn't the idea of the system itself. My issue is the "tour kids" who -must- see Tori before each and every show. I think it's selfish and rude to attempt to monopolize Tori's time like that. *shrug* IMHO, this is the death of the M&Gs, period. I'm willing to bet that one of the following happens: 1) People ignore the "no lining up before 2pm rule", and Steve/Joel get pissed and call the whole thing off. 2) The 2pm deadline turns into an utter madhouse, and more people than before get hurt or sick. Steve and Joel get pissed and call the whole thing off. Fans had the M&Gs, and fans ruined the M&Gs. You see, I live in Milwaukee, and I was one of the souls who sent the spirit that caused an opening here in 98. And on the opening day of the new tour, I wondered, "Why don't we get a rare song that she can do every show?" And then I said, "Self, what song would that be?" And the first song that came to mind was "Blood Roses." I absolutely cannot wait. Only two weeks left. And I hope that both Tori and the fans realize that it's still about that current flowing. So, I just moved to a new town and was browsing a local CD shop and found that this place has bootlegs while my previous town and the surrounding area was completely barren. I of course, very excited I might add, bought one. The guy working was very nice and offered to let me listen to it, which is new to me. So, I have my discman with me, hoping I can listen to it on my walk home. Nope. Apparently it doesn't work in discmans or at least mine. Is there something I can do or anything or do they just not work in discmans? Is it all discmans? Are all bootlegs like this? Is there anything else it won't work in? Does anyone have any comments to make to someone who doesn't have much experience in this area? The CD I got was the Minneapolis, MN 7-18-99 one. I payed a little under $45 for it. Is this a good price? How much to they usually go for? They had a few there that were less, but I wanted this one cause it was the only plugged one w/ some non plugged stuff too.
