The number system didn't begin until the middle of plugged 98 toru because so many people were getting jacked because they showed up first and ended up at the back. So some super-nice people who happened to be at whichever one it started at decided to start the number system, which works SO much better than the "everybody-rush-at-the-barricades-so-we-can-all-kill-each-other" way. Gold-stamped promos are practically worthless, because they are not all that rare. The only difference between your album and one you could buy in the store is that the promo is stamped by the record company. That's it. Disappointing, I know, but the record companies send countless gold-stamped copies out. The real collector's items are stuff like radio and store promos, with inserts and it will say on the album itself that it is promotional. If you search your copy, it won't say "advanced sale" or "promotional" anywhere but on that gold stamp. It sucks, but hang onto it anyway. =) Hope that helps, Heather, who is working on her full-blown Charlotte review as we speak. =========================== slackerbitchfaghagwhore suchamotherfuckingwhore "It's a dirty job but shooting guns just makes you horny..." - -- Miss Moneypenny (Placebo) "0898-007..." _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. It's hard to talk about this. From personal experience, I'm upset, because I have very limited chances to see Tori - I don't have the money or means to do a small Tori tour, but I certainly don't decry the ones who do. At three meet and greets, I have not had the chance to get close enough to say "boo" to Tori, although I people have graciously passed things up for me. I think if it were me, now after going through this a few times, getting up very early after working the previous night, I would not try to be at the head of the M&G line if I'd met Tori before. I would still stay around and be near her magnificent aura, but I really think everyone should have one chance to say what they have to to Tori or just blubber like an idiot. (I often wonder which I would do...) And I REALLY don't understand how the number system could fall apart like it does. Even with the struggles in Fort Lauderdale and not getting an M&G number until two hours after I was at the show and having it be 59 - - I still recognize that as my number and would have lined up in single file like that to possibly have the chance of meeting her safely and quietly. Course the actual numbering is another topic... But if following the rules kept Tori safe and eager to do the M&Gs, I'll do it anytime. paige- === Steady as it comes right down to you I've said it all so maybe we're a Bliss of another kind __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? It's jo§h who oh-so-recently got his college account and totally would have been back here like a week ago, had he not been dumb. I n regards to the number system, I only got closer to tori without it at my first show, due to the fact that I was with some really observant people who totally noticed that we were all standing on the wrong side of the venue, because they were tricking us into staying on one side while they set up the barricade on the other. The reason that the people who are assigning numbers have the lowest is because they generally are the first to reach the venue and begin the number system. It's not that they are bullies, it's that they are trying to create the most organized possible way of getting as many people to see tori as possible. These people don't do it for their own well-being. They do it because they are kind enough to try and avoid mass-hysteria. And a lot of times, if people are just chatting (because we do know there are those who ar! >! >! >e there only to speak with tori) they will take your stuff you want signed with them to the front. I understand there are a lot of issues with the system, but I personally think it's agood way to do it. I mean, if these people ARE willing to show up at the venue at god-forbidden hours, then they have a right to see tori up close and personal. I didn't spend 8 hours at the chicago venue to be tricked out of not meeting tori, but apparently that was the case. I do not mean to slam anybody here, but let's get with the program. There have been SO many threads about people whining because they were upset with the way the meet'n'greet worked out. I'm sorry. How is tori becoming like alanis? Are you talking about the rock concert style she has now as opposed to the girl and her piano? If that's what you mean, then you have to realize that all artists go through changes and I'm sure this is not the final destination for Tori. She will change again in another 5 years. She needs to express herself in different ways to keep the creative juices flowing. She's having a LOT of fun right now, you can really tell on stage, and I really believe that she makes her own decisions, not her record company. Okay, hon? I've also got a CD (yes, silly me BUYS the CD first THEN wonders what it is!). Its 'Under The Pink' (apparently!), but it has no markings whatever, or inserts apart from the cat. no 82567. I think there is a promo unmastered version of Under The Pink, which has the track listing etc on the CD itself..this is cat. No 82567-2 (I think!)..so is this the unmastered, unmastered copy!!?, any light would be nice! :-).
