And there are unpleasant side effects if you don't die. If you're thinking of trying this, don't. Or at least read as much as you can before you do. Because i dont' think her father really believed in these imaginary beings that Tori seemed to believe in very strongly and i think maybe Tori felt like her father forced her to give those imaginary friends up, forced her to kill them out of her. You know deny what she knew was real....what was real to her. Tori had an imaginary friend when she was small, named Clunky the Purple Monkey. She once screamed when a friend of her father's sat down in an 'empty' chair-- he had sat right on top of Clunky ! ;o) >From what i've read, children who have 'imaginary friends' are thought to be of higher intelligence and creativity than average. It can also be a sign of loneliness. In any case, Clunky was (one of ?) Tori's. K. _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Visit http://www.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 06 Aug 1999 22:40:25 GMT From: "Wake UpNeo" Subject: answer about ticket selling In PT # 231, Katie asked: " So what are the rules about selling tickets at a show.  Is it illegal if you sell them for face value or less, or is it only illegal if you try to make money off the tickets. " I was once in a similar dilemma. I had two tickets, then bought two more thinking people were coming with me. Well, two of them went out of town, and i couldn't get anyone for the other one either ! That made three extra tickets (before i was online and knew many Toriphiles). So i wanted to pick up the two at the window then try to sell another pair. But when i asked the person at the ticket window, she told me "it's illegal to sell tickets". I told her "but i'm not making profit off these, in fact i'm selling for less than i paid" (I refuse to pass on those extra ticketmonster charges). She said, "it doesn't matter, if you sell them for face value, or ten dollars, it's still illegal". At another show tho, i was able to sell an extra ticket. Again, at face ticket-value minus all charges. Someone drove all the way from another city just in hopes of going to the show. He was happy, i was happy, and the ticket didn't go to waste. If you're gonna do it, just be ultra discreet about it. And know that many times, what you think of as trying to help someone go to the show, others may see as scalping. When i tried to unload my extra tickets at another venue, i got some of the dirtiest looks ever. They thought i was a scalper. No one even asked how much (they'd have known i wasn't cos they were so cheap). Or maybe they were afraid of fake tickets ? I wanted to say "but i'm a Toriphile too !" but of course that wouldn't have mattered-- people think what they want. Your best bet is to try and sell the pair you have to someone online before the show, imho. Or arrange to meet them just before the show and sell them to them. Don't count on selling them to people there without arranging it first (unless maybe at a meet and greet; sometimes people show up at those w/out all the tickets they need yet). But by showtime, most will have their tickets already and may assume you are a scalper :o(. I just got lucky that other time. If you arrange something ahead of time, you can still be assured of going (meet at the ticket window then step away for the transaction) and so will the person buying your extras. But if the venue said the tickets will be at will call they most likely will be; i've never heard of that not happening. To me, it's more worrying wondering if the stranger you are selling extras to will show up (that happened with the second example-- someone promised to buy them then got there early, got a better seat and didn't show; I found out later. I missed seeing a few songs waiting for them). Somewhere in all those various scenarios i hope you can decide what to do. At least it's a bit of info from one who's been there !
