There is no info yet on whether there will be a meet'n'greet. I doubt that we'll know anything about it until one actually happens or not at the first show. There's never been announcements before on whether or not there'd be one -- they just happened. /nad _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Also, with the current generation of VCRs, you do -not- need a multistandard TV (haven't ever seen those). The video signal comes out of the VCR in PAL (for example), having been converted from NTSC within the player. - -- Ken Tough Cornwall/London UK ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Jul 1999 07:40:32 -0400 From: "Emily W. I'm sure if there was a boot of this running around I would have found a way to get it a long time ago, but please, if anyone out there has the boot of the June 12, 1996 St Louis Fox Theater DDI show. I just remember my eyes ached afterwards because I unknowingly was trying not to blink, the show was so incredible. It was my first live Tori experience because I was finally old enough to drive, so it was a very personal experience. If anyone can help me, please email me back at ewrigd0@pop.uky.edu - or whatever address I'm sending this from. I would really appreciate it! We can then set up some sort of trade or something. Thanks guys! love in tori ~~~ emily ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Jul 1999 19:13:07 -0500 From: "Daisy Dead Petals" Subject: amazing powers of observation... Hey! I just noticed something! I was watching the Sessions on West 54th or whatever that PBS special is called, and I noticed that Tori's "apron" is her dress on the cover of the Jackie's Strength dance mixes single. No kiddin! They are one in the same! Just that in the show she is wearing clothes underneath, and on the cover of the single, she is either bare-assed, or the "apron" used to be a dress with a back on it. But They couldve taped that "apron" on her--check it out. Daisy Melanie daislen@wctc.net "Women must understand that simply attacking or hating all men is just another form of disempowerment. A woman has to realize that when she makes a man crawl it doesn't give her power. All it will do is make her puke eventually. Rather than say "all men are bastards" let's say "all men are infants, until they decide to be men." Calling them bastards is boring at this stage." - -Tori Amos ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Jul 1999 09:58:38 -0300 From: "Matt Doyle" Subject: (Tori-boot) Re: Help needed...don't forget Lots of good points about the boot quality issues..however, a place that converts videos will probably convert a boot anyway...since they do all kinds of movies...most of them advertise doing home videos....well..a boot is kinda like that. ;) "Uh...yeah...so we were in my backyard..at this big Tori concert...and those graphics? yeah..added em from my computer..yeah.." :) Hope it all works out for you. DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT MULTISYSTEMS? >>> Nadyne Mielke 07/29/99 03:21PM >>> At 01:13 PM 7/29/1999 -0300, Matt Doyle wrote: [sorry about the formatting!] >Along with a Multisystem VCR (NTSC, Pal, Secam), you also need a multisystem television...having only one won't cut it..and yes, not only are multisystem vcr's rare in the US, they are rare in North America in general. They are more common in Europe however. You may want to look into getting some vids converted at a place that does system conversion (NTSC->PAL, PAL->NTSC, etc.) >> Oh, I forgot about the television itself! Doh! Thanks for reminding me on that one, Matt. On this side of the pond, at least, professional video conversion ain't cheap. :/ All of Tori's commercial videos that you'd find in the US are available in the correct format overseas. I'm sure that it would be both easier and cheaper to purchase them on your side of the pond. :) For bootleg videos, I can't say that I'd recommend getting one converted. A conversion from NTSC to PAL is kinda icky {IIRC, NTSC uses less frames per second than PAL}. Given the not-always-great quality of bootleg videos, I don't know if it would be a good idea. In addition, a professional likely wouldn't do video conversion on a bootleg video. :/ If you're interested in bootleg videos, I'd highly recommend finding traders in Europe and asking them if they'd be willing to help you out. IIRC, there is a mailing list for Tori boot traders in Europe {again IIRC, the guy who set it up found Tori-boot to be a little too Ameri-centric for his tastes}, although someone else will have to give you the info on that [1]. But, of course, all of this is assuming that you don't have the dual-standard equipment. If you do, you're perfectly fine. :) {But, this info may be useful to someone else anyway.} /nad [1] Note to self: find the info on the Euro boot traders list and add it to the Resources FAQ.
