So if some of us need to do a bit of road-tripping to get to a show, it just adds the 'feet' to the 'ears-with-feet', right? I purchased my copy of UtP/More Pink when Tori toured in Australia in 1994 at a major chain store, so I would presume mine is an original, not a CD-R. Mine has the misspelling, and I believe they were all the same. More Pink itself is not a bootleg. It was a special tour edition of UtP that was released especially for Australians for the 1994 tour (small compensation for the fact that she hasn't been back since). HTH. Tori's songs almost seem too much when there is the addition of a video with 'too many happenings', and I believe the video which did work best on one of her later releases was 'Hey Jupiter', because the video does have a great deal of simplicity, and appears in slow motion which allows you to digest the imagery and the sound in your own time. Every time I listen to that CD, I remember my good friend David, who I used to work with. David and I got along famously. He was obsessed with Counting Crows. He was as into Counting Crows as we all are with Tori. When I left town and said goodbye to him, it struck me (almost physically) that I never really got to know this man. We worked together and hung out, but we never really *talked*. He promised to write, but he never did. I never saw him again, and it always bothered me. I miss him and I miss the part of him that I never got to know. So, when I was listening to Counting Crows, I thought of David. In the past, when I thought of David, I was sure he had forgotten me, and it made me sad. Suddenly, I remembered how we would sometimes listen to Little Earthquakes together at work (we would argue about who got to play what--because he always wanted to hear CC and I always wanted to hear Tori). And then I realized that David hasnt forgotten me! He thinks of me every damn time that he plays Little Earthquakes! And I can just picture him turning to someone saying, "I used to work with a girl that just loved Tori Amos. I wonder whatever happened to her. I really got along with her." I know its trivial, but (to paraphrase) were all just an element away I guess! :) Daisy Melanie daislen@wctc.net "Women must understand that simply attacking or hating all men is just another form of disempowerment. A woman has to realize that when she makes a man crawl it doesn't give her power. All it will do is make her puke eventually. Rather than say "all men are bastards" let's say "all men are infants, until they decide to be men." Calling them bastards is boring at this stage." - -Tori Amos ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 4 Jul 1999 21:51:15 EDT From: KAPS72@aol.com Subject: Re: #9 Someone suggested the nine meant the 9th track on the CD, but the 9th planet theory sounds good to me! - - Kim "...sometimes I can hold my tongue sometimes not...." ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 04 Jul 1999 19:02:06 PDT From: Eric Seymour Subject: [none] Hello, I remember someone giving out a URL for a site where you could subscribe and unsubscribe to various Tori mailing lists. I had it bookmarked but i must have deleted it. Can someone help me please???? Neither has Alanis, or any other of my favorite artists (except Sinead Lohan and Laura Love). I finally got tired of waiting for Tori to come to me, and I'm going to Tori, in Atlanta. :) ~~~Victoria~~ "Thanks a lot, big brain." -Vonnegut ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it. In my travels this weekend, I found some interesting Tori items. I found the two books "Pink Earthquakes" and "Cornflake Girl", both in the same book store. I also found two more T-shirts: one has the pic from the cover of CALS single with "Dew Drop Inn 96" on the front, white, and the other is black with a picture of Tori's face. They are both double sided and up on a wall so I couldn't see the other sides. I'm very excited about all these things. I was just wondering how easy they were for anyone else to find. :>) - - Kim "...sometimes I can hold my tongue sometimes not..." ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 4 Jul 1999 21:30:08 EDT From: RHPSshock@aol.com Subject: Re: Neverwhere Movie In a message dated 7/3/99 1:31:24 AM Eastern Daylight Time, desilu@wt.net writes: << > the tree =) But I was also thinking, and I know that this is THE longest > shot, what if Tori played Door? if you think about it, the description of > Door, tori certainly matches her. just drop her in a dumpster and give her > the power to make doors, and *voila* lol. anyways I always thought door was shorter. Someone like Kirsten Dunst (not that she's really short anymore, but). Someone younger-looking. Any other cast ideas? I was thinking Kenneth Branagh for the marquis. Or maybe Islington. >> I really do think it would be AWESOME if she played Door, I think that Tori is *short* enough.;) For some reason I always pictured Hunter looking like Tori. I guess we should all just keep our fingers crossed. -neena. ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V4 #200 *************************************
