The song is " I wanna get back with you". She's background vocals and it's all right. But I suppose you all knew that... ...and on a Led Zeppelin tribute cd called " encomium"(1995). She performs the last track with Robert Plant" down by the seaside". It's so great and expressive and I love it.... ....and finally she appears on a cd of modern chrismas carols( or something) called " cool chrismas" she sings winther we all know from LE, but a nice cd though... bye bye Ingeborg ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 2 Jun 1999 12:14:28 EDT From: Freque79@aol.com Subject: the Tori Banner Exchange Hi Guys, I have been bored with my website lately, and needed something to do in my spare time. So I decided to create a new banner exchange for Tori-related sites. It currently does not have a creative name, and I am simply calling it the Tori Banner Exchange. There are about 8 members now. I am looking for more people, so it can truly be worthwhile. If you have a Tori or Tori-related site, and you'd like to join this new banner exchange, you can either e-mail me at girlgoddess@prodigy.net or go to http://members.xoom.com/pianoqueen/exchange.html. Keep in mind that you have to have a banner that is 468 X 60 pixels. If you have a banner that is slightly larger or different resolution, it can probably be rearranged or something. If you don't have a banner, I'll probably be able to make one for you. Just email me! I hope to hear from lots of people. I think it was in All These Years that I read that a girl and her mother came up to Tori and her mother in England yelling "It's the cornflake girl" or something, and after they left, Tori said "But, Ma, I'm a raisin girl." A point very few seem to get. Because she says "Never was a cornflake girl." I think she meant that cornflake girls are vain and selfish, they hurt each other, while raisin girls are a bit beyond all that, more giving and selfless, better friends. As far as the song goes, I've never been entirely sure, a testimony to the awful ways girls can treat each other I've always thought, and Tori's said about as much in interviews when asked about it. Hm... maybe then Tori doesn't mean "peel", as to peel a skin back or something. Maybe it's another one of her copious album spelling errors/typos, and it actually meant "peal" - to ring. Pealing out a watchword makes far more sense. I've never thought it about it like that before. Hi Guys, As some of you may know, I do projects to help support my ToriThoughts.Org domain and the various Toriphile-oriented work -- including the RDTRN, ToriTour, and Story Time mailing lists -- that I run through it. I am on a painfully low income and owning a domain and running mailing lists is expensive. Rather than asking for donations outright, which makes me uncomfortable, I prefer to offer something unique to folks in exchange for their sponsorship. I want to let you all know about the new t-shirt project that's up and running. For $20 you can tell the world whether you're a "Toriphile" or an "Ears With Feet" and look fab while doing it. :) Visit http://www.torithoughts.org for more details. I'm really excited about this. I think you will be, too. :) (You can also read some comments about my previous shirt.) Because the goal is to get the shirts to everyone who wants one in time for the first date on the upcoming tour, the deadline for orders is July 1st. Ok, I'm here reading the lastest issue of spin with Axl Rose on the cover (hello? are we back in 1988?) and they have this fairly big section called the Summer Music Guide 1999 ... no tori and alanis :( yet here is what they have ... Ozzfest ... 1988 again?? Peter Frampton Central Park Summerstage (Jon spencer blues explosion, sugar hill gang) Tibetan Freedom Concert Cher/Cyndi Lauper The Warped Tour Glastonbury Fest (Tori played this last year) Rainbow Gathering (don't they have those every sunday, complete with LSD??) Hootenanny '99 (rockabilly) Community Service (crystal method, orbital) Go-Go's Reunion Tour (now I would go to this, except its only on the west coast) Lilith Fair (no further comments here) Love Parade (mega-rave in europe) Phish -- are they bigger than tori?? come on, they really really suck!! Summer Camp (supposedly like the HORDE Tour) Weird Al (1988, anyone?) Woodstock 3 and the big shocker not Tori/Alanis but Luscious Jackson/Cibo MAtto ... described as the lilith fair where women who wear pumas instead of birkenstocks (hey I have both, but I never wear either - - so what concert do I go to??? :) How about Tori/Alanis - the Lilth Fair where the women wear bras! now there were a few other tours listed but this was enough to make my point - -- why did spin choose to overlook Tori & Alanis yet include such a wide array of other things?? --- including those which are much less well-known and/or marketable... hmm, maybe I should send them a copy of this. alright ... A computer CD-R {-not- to be confused with a CD-R for use in one of the stereo component CD burners, which cost -quite- a bit more} costs anywhere between US$1 and US$4. It'll cost you $4 if you purchase a single CD-R, it'll cost you $1 if you buy a bunch (50+) at a time. There are two ways to purchase CD-Rs: with their case and without. With cases, you can purchase them in 5, 10, or 20 packs. IME, your best place to pick up these are at office supply stores, Sam's Club, or Costco. When you purchase your CD-Rs at one of these places, look around for rebates that'll give you anywhere from $5 to $15 back. Without cases, you're generally purchasing them in multiples of 50. You can find them online, or you can purchase them at places like Best Buy, CompUSA, etc. You'll (obviously) need to purchase jewel cases, and you can get them at office supply stores, Target, etc. When pricing online, don't forget to factor in the cost of shipping. Sometimes you can get awesome deals online, but sometimes the awesome deal turns out to suck after you figure out how much the shipping will be. I have purchased CD-R and tape trading supplies from the following online establishments: http://www.cdroutlet.com http://www.tape.com {check out their Internet specials once a week or so!} http://www.ttapes.com {yes, that URL is correct} Please be aware, before you start purchasing CD-Rs, that some traders will - -not- accept 2:1s for CDs. I know I don't: I can buy blank CD-Rs for so cheap that the extra CD-R you're sending me rarely covers the cost of shipping. I personally "sell" copies of my CD-Rs for US$8 per disc, with any profits to RAINN. HTH. :) /nad PS: Before anyone emails me to ask about getting CDs from me, lemme say the following: 1) I just moved into a new house, started my summer classes, and started a huge project at work {not to mention that I just got back from vacation}. I'm not even close to unpacked yet, and my computer at home is barely set up {I have email and news up 'cause I need 'em for work, and I have my C++ compiler up}. 2) As a direct result of (1), don't email me now asking for boots. When I have the time to do 'em, I'll make some sort of public announcement. If you email me and say "hey, can you tell me when you're ready?", I'll file you in my bozo bin. The simple direction here is "don't email me right now 'cause I ain't ready". Got it? :) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 02 Jun 1999 12:55:06 PDT From: "Ryan -" Subject: Boys for Pele digipak album I don't post much, but I'm a serious collector and I'm looking for the REALLY rare Boys for Pele album released as a cd digipak.
