My guess would be they'll have a couple of "5 1/2 Weeks Tour" shirts and stuff and then seperate booths for Alanis stuff and Tori stuff. At Lilith Fair they have the Lilith merchandise(shirts, caps, bags, etc) and then they have the Sarah stuff at the Nettwerk booth and most of the rest of the artists have stuff at the Tower Records booth, etc... If not, has anyone delt with Will Call tickets for Tori shows? The only experience with Will Call that I've had was at an Ani concert last year, and those tickets were so bad we didn't care what we got and ended up sitting in much better seats that were vacant... I'm just worried that we'll have a problem the day of the show... he has his confirmation page printed, but will that be enough?? Thanks.. any info would be appreciated.. vicTORIa ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 May 1999 22:24:07 -0400 From: Beth Coulter Subject: Re: Quote from AP Article At 11:06 PM 5/27/99 -0400, Tripp Gwyn wrote: > I love Choirgirl, but to me, it left without >an end. I don't want her singing "I'm over it and I'm happy now la la >la" that wouldn't be Tori, but I would like the final chapter. I felt the same way until I played it in the order of the lyric book. It starts with Pandora's Aquarium and ends with Playboy Mommy. And the way it ends, with a sob and sigh, is the perfect, dignified ending. Try it, that's all I can say. program the entire cd according the way the lyrics are in the booklet and it's a whole new album. Have you guys noticed that on "Purple People" Tori sings with SUCH a British accent! Her pronounciation on that song is by NO means American, as say - Playboy Mommy - where she says "BirmingHAM" (whereas here in Britain we would say "Birmingm"). Just a random thought. doron. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 May 1999 08:48:02 PDT From: "beulah girl" Subject: It's starting This is sort of regarding Jason's comment about signing up to buy tickets so they can spam us. I opened a hotmail account specifically for this purpose and the spam has begun. Yesterday I got a message from a company who sells vacations and today I got one about lowering my morgage. The only possible place this could have come from is the MP3 site because I've not done anything else with the email address. If this continues I'm bound to get pretty frustrated, especially if they start to come everyday. Has anyone else experienced this? " I think it will be maybe one shirt together or about the concert tour in general; and the rest will be separate stuff. At the KROQ Christmas show, in 1996 (?), there were several artists and *each* had their own t shirt. The one with Tori on it was pea green, had the Hey Jupiter photo of Tori in a tree on the front (if i'm a bit off on this; well i'm too ill today to get up and look for it) and on the back it said "KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas". I believe that on the front, but possibly on the back, it said "Girls Night Out" (the name for the first night which had all female artists). So it was a Tori shirt *and* it was about the show. So, i think that there will be Tori shirts there. They will probably say something about the tour title tho. And, probably one with both of them on it; some people will want those i'm sure. If there will be ones just about Tori and her new music tho, i dunno. In fact this is all just my best guess. But i hope it helped somehow. Erika asked: " does anyone else have a desire to hear Tori play backed by a full orchestra or maybe not a full one, but something like that.  Could you just imagine hearing Yes, Anastasia, or Winter with all the accompaniment... *wow* " YES !!! What a great idea =) Yes, Anastasia is one of my all time fave Tori songs anyway =) How about one of those artist-with-a-great-orchestra-evenings in London or something ? *wishing i could think of a great example* Would that not be kewl ? :oD An evening of Tori songs backed by a world class orchestra *sigh* =) Also the cut and paste didn't work twice *hanging head in shame* but, you asked about the line in Northern Lad about when pianos try to be guitars ? I think i remember this thread from back when FTCGH came out (and being flamed for analyzing Tori's lyrics) but, i do remember Tori saying in interviews of that time that she was trying to get her piano to be a guitar during the Dew Drop Inn tour, and also drumming on it, etc., (in other words trying to make one instrument sound like many) and that it just wasn't working after a while for her. And then, that thought is one reason why she decided to incorporate a band ! (she also said something like the piano was getting lonely up there; and once that she herself was). If anyone can dig up the exact quote and source on that ? That'd be great ? K. _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Dominick said: " About Ticket-Bastard:  Ok, reality check, getting tickets for anything is always one big pain in the *BEEP*, let's not act all surprised now...get over it... " Maybe it's just the ever-dismissive 'get over it' that annoys me; but also: Gee, why didn't i think of that ? Just 'get over it'. Just expect to be treated badly, held up for spam-som and extorted for huge extra fees by a monopolistic corporation like Ticketmaster. Yeh i know it is always a pain in the butt; what puzzles me is why you seem to be saying we should just fall over and accept that ? I won't do that, especially not when it's something i'm paying for. Consumer rights ? Ring a bell ? We do have them. But please know it's not you i'm angry at. But it does really shock me how a lot of people will be treated any old way some corporation dictates. That's why there are anti-trust laws in the first place, and a lot of other things; cos this sort of thing happens and most people say 'oh well what can you do'. And after reading that people had to buy TWO cds to even have the privilege of buying Lilith Faire tickets to begin with ? Extortion !! Plain and simple. That is not acceptable just to be able to go and see a concert ! And the option of not going if you don't want to or can't pay that, isn't acceptable either ! What i won't do tho is grumble about it any more here (hurrahs going up ?). If anyone has any ideas on what can be done about this (i know it's been tried before; but there has to be *some* way) or any consumer agencies that might do something about this, tho, email me privately; i'm all ears. Just 'get over it' while they rip us off ? No thanks ! No way. K. _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. I always noticed that too, and chalked it up to the fact that she was perhaps talking about Birmingham, Alabama, where there's a military base of some sort. That's the "soldiers" she's talking about, at least on one level. I heard her say playing with a drummer is like fucking to a metronome. I think she'd have a hard time having to keep in time to an entire orchestra, know what I mean? As cool as it would be, it wouldn't be totally right because she'd have to stay with the orchestra and it wouldn't have the passion behind it as most of her live stuff since she'd be restricted. Maybe it made a difference to her that the Birmingham in that lyric is the one in Alabama, not the city in England. (Reference comments of the August 14, 1998 show on The Dent.)
