I have a live version of Tori singing Little Amsterdam, improv part and all. She very clearly says: All alone got a girl in the city, hey Got a room and a place for two Got a goat and a phone I said Boy you are my fifth avenue... The recording is from the Dew Drop Inn tour, so there are no loud drums or guitar riffs to cover the lyrics. It was very clear to me at least. Hope that helps... I was just thinking earlier today about the upcoming concerts and stuff and I thought of the merchandise they will be selling. Do you think that it will be Tori & Alanis stuff, seperate stuff or like one or two shirts together and the rest seperate stuff?? I know at Lollapalooza they would have shirts and stuff for each band and then a few things that were for "lollapalooza" ... What do they do at other combination shows like the Lilith Fair?? (which I won't go to unless they stop being hypocrites and invite some men to join them :) I hope Tori will have seperate stuff - it would be a shame to have to spend $25 on a shirt with alanis on it (not that I hate her, I just don't like her enough to wear her). ok, well any thoughts on this will be much appreciated - no one has mentioned this yet, although I know many will be interested :) kisses, joanne ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 May 1999 02:29:47 -0700 From: Dominick W Olivas Subject: Re: i was doing time in the universal mind... hello all... 1) About Ticket-Bastard: Ok, reality check, getting tickets for anything is always one big pain in the *BEEP*, let's not act all surprised now...get over it... 2) About being a better fan: All i have to say is, "What?" It is what it is to *you*. *You* decide what you are willing to give as far as being a fan is concerned... 3) Summer tour/new album: ENJOY THEM!!! Not many artists put out this much time and effort for fans these days...we are priviliged fans of one truly amazing artist...we are living testimony of what art can be...don't let frustration with ticket companies make you lose sight of what draws you to tori in the first place... " I really like that prospect. I love Choirgirl, but to me, it left without an end. There was another chapter or something you could tell TOri had forgotten. I don't want her singing "I'm over it and I'm happy now la la la" that wouldn't be Tori, but I would like the final chapter. I really hope that quote was a little "insider" insight as to what the new material will be about. The "COMPUTER" prospect is also very interesting to me. It was a horrible sell, but I enjoyed the Smashing Pumpkins frey in to this arena with Adore. My only real wish is that Tori will have a little more Shenale strings on this album that FTCGH. It is the only thing I really missed on the album. Jackie just wasn't enough for me. There is a magic between Phil and Tori, much like that between she and the " Brothers 3". Tripp Gwyn tgwyn@infoave.net ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 May 1999 02:38:51 -0400 From: Mikewhy Subject: Concord and Saratoga Springs update Tickets are expected to go onsale online Friday morning, May 28 for the Concord, CA show. No one has been able to determine what time that will happen. I can suggest that you check every hour starting at 7:00AM PT if you really want to be sure. Be sure to go to alanisandtori.mp3.com to buy them. Ticketmaster will likely have nothing to do with this venue since they normally use Bass Tickets. AS for the Saratoga Springs, NY show on August 29, there is some doubt. For one thing that date is still listed at alanisandtori.mp3.com as TBA. Secondly, Maria Carullo reports that there was an article in The Hartford Courant recently about upcoming concerts in Hartford, CT. The articles stated, "There is a chance for a Meadows stop for the Alanis Morissette-Tori Amos tour and for the Sugar Ray-Goo Goo Dolls tour later in the summer." Maria wrote the author of that article and she got this response, "The Meadows has a chance to get the date on the 29th that is currently listed to be at Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Because it is so close to Woodstock, where Alanis is also appearing, the Woodstock people might fight it and Hartford would be the beneficiary." We have no confirmation either way, but I wanted to make you aware of this. If anyone has additional information please let me know! We all know this (meaning ticket sales) was poorly handled, we all know we will be spammed unmercifully by mp3.com now, and we all know ticketmaster just totally blows. we know this...let's move on to better topics to discuss. 2. All tickets eventually will be going on sale to the public if they already haven't done so. The Detroit show went on sale the 22nd of may. the day AFTER the show. i've haven't got my tickets yet, i'll prolly get the today. they may suck, they may not. but you know what? I'LL JUST FEEL DAMN LUCKY THAT I GET TO GO! 3. As for the bigger better fan shiznit, everybody finds Tori in their own time. Every one has their own level of love for Tori. Just because you have every damn single out there imported, bootleg and whatnot, does not mean you are a bigger fan--it just means you have a bigger paycheck. one of the most sincere diehard tori fans i know, has exactly 5 things of tori, 4 of those she just got in the last 3 months. LE, UtP, BfP, FTCGH, and a bootleg copy of 12/3/98, her first tori show. now she's been listening to tori since LE, she remembers YKTR, but she just bought UtP,BfP,FTCGH, and i just gave her a copy of the bootleg. does that give her the status of less of a fan because she only has owned LE for the past whatever years? i don't think so. all this hoopla with the "true fan" shiznit with TM and mp3.com only screwed out those who don't have online acess, a credit card, or parents who won't let them have theirs. and to tell you the truth, i'd rather be out braving the elements socializing and meeting some great people and the occasional moron, then sitting on my butt in my house, trying to fight for a spot in the bandwidth to buy tickets. ~~becka ICQ#14314488 AOL IM - SwyngBaybe ~~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~ http://www.geocities.com/RodeoDrive/Outlet/1174 ~~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~ Green Limosine for the redhead dancing, dancing girl ~~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~*:*~~ _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Ok, I was sitting listening to BFP and a few random thoughts demanded that they be expressed... First, is there anyone else out there who thinks that Horses from the DDI tour is not the absolute best thing? I mean, it was never one of my favs, but then I got copy of DDI Boulder, and the way she sings "to ride on" with such force, it gives me tingles. Second, this was actually I thought I've had for a while now. ok, the line in Northern Lad, "when pianos try to be guitars," um, I thought it might be a reference to BFP and the harpsichord, because even though it has a keyboard its a stringed instrument, and the strings are plucked like a guitar... so I thought hey there might be a connection there, or maybe I'm just crazy. And last, does anyone else have a desire to hear Tori play backed by a full orchestra or maybe not a full one, but something like that. Could you just imagine hearing Yes, Anastasia, or Winter with all the accompaniment... *wow* Alright, I'm done. If you read, thanks. I've been meaning to say all this for ages now, so here it is.
