The Red Baron was also an alter-ego of Snoopy from Charlie Brown (you know when he used to wear his little avaiator hat and fly around in the red plane?) I'm not entirely sure I know what I'm talking about, but I think it at least has something to do with WW II and Nazis. Okay, I know that people have asked this more than once in the past, but I don't remember what people said. Okay, I am looking for mp3s. I have looked and looked and I cannot find one stinking site that works. Okay, I've been to Upside Down. That one works, but none of those links have worked with the exception to Blood Roses, which only has a few mp3s. The Realm of mp3s is down and The Force of Tori just doesn't work for me. If anyone knows of any other websites that actually works and actually has mp3s that will actually download, could you please bless me with them? I'm mainly looking for recorded songs rather than live, mainly ones that are hard to find, but it doesn't really matter. Thanks. Subject: Xmas album I've been thinking. Wouldn't it be cool for Tori to do a Xmas album? I mean it's not that strange - most artists and certainly lots of the big female vocalists have Xmas albums, i.e. Celine and Mariah. And I've often wanted something from Tori at the Holidays - more than just Little Drummer Boy and Have Yourself A Merry Little Xmas. What songs would everyone like to hear her do? I bet she could do a haunting, crystalline version of Silver Bells. -Rob ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 06 May 1999 21:34:22 -0700 From: "Megasus©" Subject: Re: flying Dutchman Stephen Golato wrote: > After reading the posts about the flying dutchman stories, I was wondering > if one of my favorite Tori songs (Not the Red Baron) relates at all to this > story. I was kind of wondering the same thing.. because at the beginning of "Not the Red Baron" Tori is like.. speaking to somebody and says something.. and then says.. "No, Dutch.." I didn't catch the whole thing, but when "Flying Dutchmen" was brought up.. that's the first thing I thought of.. since the Red Baron was a pilot.. :) So are the songs related? I haven't heard Flying Dutchmen.... Okay, the coolest thing happened today! I went to talk to my Music Appreciation professor during his office hours. He had told the class earlier in the quarter that he was very interested in music with odd tempos, and that if we knew of any such music, to bring it to him. So, I brought in FTCH thinking I'd show him Spark. I also had LE with me, and he listened to some of each album. Intrigued, he asked me if I'd bring the CDs to the next lecture so he could play some of the songs for the class! He also asked me if I'd talk some on the whatever way that Tori relates to the topic of classical music and composing. This should be nerve-racking, but fun! I have a few ideas for Tori quotes I can use, but if you know of any others, please email me privately! I can't wait!!! "another pilot down" and "hollow heart" and "red ribbons", and the denial of "Not" and "not" and "not", it's like Tori's (or the speaker of the song's) shock at whomever it was that died... it's like, "No, not him, not him too..." That's actually a very interesting way of looking at the song, and it throws a few new thematic issues into the whole Boys for Pele album. She ends up inviting a couple girlfriends to her house, and when they are sitting around talking "Crucify" (I think) is playing in the background. Just thought I would share! Bye for now. I was just curious what everyone's opinions that have seen it are. I love all her videos of course, and everything she does..but when it comes to Tori live, nothing else compares! I love the way she does Precious Things, probably most of all, so raw with such feeling, she always has her own way of making you know exactly how she feels. I believe I get something different from each song every time I listen to them. Also I love the way she does Little Amsterdam, Blood Roses, Caught a Lite Sneeze, and many many others. Well, pretty much all of them! If they were to make a cd from this live video, Id probably listen to it almost all the time. Also, I usually hate when musicians change up their songs when singing them live to where you barely even recognize them, but god, I love each and every single version Tori does. Well just wanted to share while Im supposed to be working right now (oops!) and wanted some input too.. The other day I was taking a day off and reading Cosmo. I look for Tori references wherever I am and I found one. There was an article about Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing on "Friends") and he was talking about how the other castmates make fun of him for listening to such serious music. He said something like, "If you're a female under emotional duress, I will buy your album. Tori Amos and Sarah McLachlan I love. Of course, if you're a lesbian, I will buy it twice." So we have Mr. Perry and Mr. Reiser as sitcom actors who like Tori. Anybody know anybody else who's come out of the Toriphile closet? Hugs, Erin >> I was so psyched to hear this cus I adore Matthew Perry (as I do his show "Friends," iiieee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyhoo.. the peeps I know who are Toriphiles are Katie Holmes, a few other chicklets from "Dawson's Creek" and I think that is all I know of.. I know there have got to be a few more but I can't remember. Who does Tori listen to? I know she likes Björk and Marvin Gaye, but I don't really know of anyone else.
