In the back of All These Years, Tori's biography, there's information for a fan club, I'm not sure of the name right now, but I was wondering if anyone knew anything about Tori fan clubs, official or otherwise? I'd love to join if there are any around...thank you! ~~*Nikki*~ http://www.angelfire.com/ma/Sullengirl AOL Instant Messager: FumblerNik ICQ: 5870355 ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Feb 1999 12:15:37 -0800 From: Frederica Rose Subject: tori's voice on the sessions interview. i just watched sessions for the first time yesterday, and i thought tori's performance was awesome, but i was disappointed y the interview. i really didn't like her interviewer (i know this has been discussed before), but, more than that... i thought tori sounded really funny. her speech was really froggy and slurred compared to how she normally sounds. she sounded like she may have been sick or something and her voice sounded really tired. at first i thought she was drunk or something, but her thoughts were too coherent for that. she sounded kinda bad though. did anyone else notice this? any thoughts or insight? no flames please. i am not trying to be insulting. love, freddie - -- "Do you gotta have a have a tripledecker super fudge sundae with a goddamn cherry on top?"-Ani DiFranco ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Feb 1999 20:25:33 -0800 From: Little Queen Subject: regarding a past post hi guys. i posted a while back that i was looking for an ebay seller named ursula kirkland. i just want everyone to know that we completed the sale and everything is fine (the lack of contact on her part was due to an email problem she was having) so i dont want anyone to have the impression that she is untrustworthy, because she is quite trustworthy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~rain~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * moon....big white moon....white as milk moon....youre all i can see from my window, here in the dark. your light falls silver and white across the walls of my cell. the night-tide surges strong in me. so strong i can feel the grip of their drugs loosen. they fancy themselves high priests. their gods have names like Thorazine and Lithium and Shock Therapy. but their gods are new and weak and cannot hope to contain me much longer. for i am the handiwork of far more powerful, far more ancient dieties. very soon my blood will learn the secret of the inhibiting factors the white-coated shamans pump into my veins. and then things will be very different, my beautiful moon..... my big moon........white as milk moon......red as blood moon..... ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Feb 1999 15:59:22 +0100 From: "spark" Subject: Now that we,ve introduced First of all,Im delighted to see that someone there actually excepts me.I can't describe how happy I am for that. (the word is Toriphoric). You really made my morning wonderful.OK.Let's cut to the chase: 1.Someone named Charlie Pool asked me how did I get these CD's that I have.OK.I'll try to explain it with simplicity: We have some stores that you can order CD's ,'cause they ,like,go to London or somewhere and get it. But they didn't find LE or any other thing I requested. In some other stores I saw ftCh,and "spark"(which came as atotal surprise, knowing that SP's are very rare here,so I bought it,like, immediately),a friend of mine was in Paris for some piano competition(he got first prize,i swear),so he bought me BfP,and on this black CD market downtown,I saw an original issue of UtP(which was the first CD i bought from mentioned). So, as you see, It was pretty hard to get them(except ftCh-you can find it anywhere now). I guess now i'll get some help from you guys. And Charlie, send me how much would it cost to make me a CD-R of that bootleg you've offered me,I'll mail you with an agrement/disagrement.If "The Dent" is "The Dent in the Tori Amos universe",yup,i'm familiar to it .It's great (and so big I rarely go there 'cause it would take days to serf it)! I subscribed to your "Tori&rest" maillist, and I'm looking forward to chat about religion, totalitarism( where i live you got a "every day expirience"of it),philosophy and other topics related/not related to Tori. 2. To Jolie: Thanks,I very much appreciate it. 3.Bessie: thanks, right now i need official stuff(Live in NYC,Video collection,LE,and some singles),but i have a friend in Munich(Serbian, studying double-bass)that i gave some money when she was here(150DM),and I expect her to buy me this stuff. When I see what will happen to this,I 'll let you now for the other stuff. 4.To Joel Speasl: keep that offer in mind ,please,so when ever I gain some money,i'll let you know. Thanks! Now everyone: at the yu -postoffices they ,ussualy take every envaloup and put it on the light so if there's money in it they,ACTUALLY,STEEL IT!!! Solution for this is to send darker anveloups(how the hell you spell this?!),or send a book in which you put the money. That way, although smart,is not 100% safe,so when we trade, you always let me know if you got the $(though a ask you:would it be OK if I send you deutsche-marks instead of dollars),so if they(God I hope not) ripp me off in the process of sending the mail,I could send you another one. Also,i'm interested in RDT fanzine and Sandman comics ,so if you can get copys of it ,keep me informed (I would like to read Sandman already,I read about it so much, and ,by my first impressions, its better than Moebius's stuff(i.e.Le garage hermeticque,John DiFool) I'm now gonna practise this Tango on my piano(I play the damn thing over 10 years). There is a stupid show on MTV called Video Cliche, but it was neato, cause Tori was on. The show takes a subject that is in a lot of videos (i.e., bathtubs, fighting, explosions), and shows clips of a bunch of videos that has that subject in it. They were showing videos that had white backgrounds, and they showed a clip from Winter. It was neat, but I thought they would have used SATY, just b/c they are MTV and stupid. I don't know if this made any sense, I am very tired. bye bye, Angelina ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Feb 1999 20:05:47 -0500 (EST) From: Richard Handal Subject: Steve Caton on TV next week Hi, Folks: A few weeks ago Steve Caton taped an episode of the NBC late-night interview show Later in which he backed up actress/singer Kathleen Yorke. Ok, here is the situation: I bought a LE cd that seems to be imported..but mispriced for 13.99...the cd is a brown-puke green solid color, the number is "CD 82358" and the tracks are the same. There is NO mention of Atlantic Records...only of East/West and Warner Music UK Ltd. The distribution address is for Canada...is this the Canadian release? The UK release? It's definitely not the US release. The spine does not have red block letters, it is a black, kind of Times New Roman font...with east/west at one side and CD 82358 at the other. My booklet is a little different, but I think they just stapled the pages together wrong..hmm. Can anyone help me? Is this the UK or Canadian (or French?) release? love, Vicki ToriPyro@aol.com "lay me down the lie will unfurl lay me down to crawl" -Placebo- prostitutes and poets welcomed at: The Coldness Of My Winter http://travel.to/desolate.winters ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Feb 1999 21:09:32 EST From: Bobdel123@aol.com Subject: not the red interpretation okay guys here is my spill on the whol not the red baron schmel. i personally think its about pain and sorrow. like most of pele its a song about the loss of something, not just relationship wise. the song uses alot of very famous images and to me thats a vital part of its connectability (if thats even a word). okay now the interpretation. not the red baron not charlie brown - -- okay with this it says that the famous ones aren't the ones disappearing, but the ones that no one thinks about. and its not always the brave ones (red baron) that go down -- i think i got the message figured another pilot down - -- just what it says. its the realization of the fact that its not the famous that are dying in millions, but the average joes (could be an aids refrence most probably is) -- and are there devils with halos in beautiful capes taking them into the flames - -- its the "good" people that are ruining the lives of millions. the "good" people being the famous ones of the past. even in death the famous people are over shadowing the average man -- not judy g not jean jean with a hallowed heart - -- the avergae people don't believe that the famous ones are the ones at fault for what is happening. we idolize stars and build them up. and even the haloed ones are really devils (judy garland) because of what the did while alive that the average man wasn't aware of -- I can see the screen go down in the flames - -- the average dead watch their idols and mentors go up in flames. they see that the whole idea of the famous is a screen like the lives they fell in love with. they watch it burn -- with every step with every heel pointed - -- i am not really sure of what this line means or how it fits. anyone's thoughts would be accepted -- not the red baron i'm sure not charlie's wonderful dog not anyone - -- again its the idea of not anyone famous so its no one we really know so therefore no one we care about -- maybe i'll sing him a last little sound many there - -- i think that this goes back to marianne and ed watching every sound. the person described dying in this song might be ed or marianne -- know some girls with red ribbons the prettiest red ribbons - -- this is the revelation part of the song. the ideas that everyone had about aids come here. throught he song you know someone has died and the go on, but this explains of what and just how many people go unnoticed. how many people just die of this disease and no none cares cause its no one famous -- so anyway thats my interpretation. please reply you guys i want to know what you think. all love in tori the raspberry swirl boy ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V4 #43 ************************************
