Death the cost of living. In 1997 vinyl had an increase in sales, and a higher percentage in the market than pre-recorded cassettes. The jukebox releases are made solely for the collector. Not necessary the Tori collector. In fact, there are thousands of collectors which buy only jukebox singles no matter who the artist is. There are departments in the majors who dream up the promo's and rarities-indies too. I was told the only black vinyl US UTP releases were the promos. Not necessarily stamped or white label either. > I don't think that vinyl >enjoyed that much of a renaissance between UtP and BfP to make them >suddenly decide to release singles on vinyl. *shrug* It did, check out Goldmine's review in 1998 on the 1997 sales. Because we have an Express around here in Durham/Chapel Hill of North Carolina and if your store is close then I could hope to get me a pair! I have been looking all over for similar earrings. Also, she has always worn those earrings up until From the Choirgirl Hotel. Her miscarriage was Dec. 23rd, 1996 (my 21st birthday) and she was wearing them then because it was during her Boys For Pele tour... I remember. So, it's not baby-related in my opinion... but who knows really... I think the whole idea behind the story of these womens sticking together in the face of these men who have NO idea what they're about is very Tori-ish. You know the part where the men are thinking she's awful because she hasn't done the dishes and they think her house is a mess, and they just don't understand how hard it is for her... yeah, definitely in the Tori vein. I just always looked at it as if you kill your soul, you are just a shell, nothing more than skin and bones. In "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings" I think the cage and bird represent keeping your soul alive even though you are enslaved. I've never read "A Jury of Her Peers," but I still think that the soul/body idea makes more sense. I always thought it was about Christianity. That the bird was Jesus and so it's an empty religion. But now I'm kind of thinking it's more about the person as a whole. That if you kill your spirit, that you're basically just walking around without a purpose, that you're an empty cage if you kill the bird. Just my 2 cents. The message is following this and the poem will come afterwards. EMMA JACK- 18, is a dancer/choreographer is Peterborough Ontario. She had written and performed theatre and dance for the Sears Dramea Festival, Peterborough New Dance and Peterborough Collegiate and Vocational School. Em's favourite things include sparkles, Starburst and Magnificent Media Mogul Moms. He poem "Junction" is an exploration of the American South as described by Tori Amos on her albun "Boys For Pele." Emma's next project is a nevella about everyday magic and a beautiful girl who abandons everything familiar to journey to Africa. Junction By Emma Jack Lost near the reddish junction veiled in pink dust at red dusk She saw the ocean, once dreamt of it imagined herself worlds away from home Dressed and downstairs, galloping past her white parents streaking lean denimmed legs tight crimson sweater red breasts are leading the charge Limp okra crisp chicken and red mud behind the shed slow honeysuckle hanging by the porch and beer at sunset Diving into swimming holes with all her clothes or not, when she has her sisters. Dancing around and around the dry earth Wailing out the oppressive song of summer cicadas In August, everything is lulled by the heat, and shimmers in silence.
