Baker Baker is like her being apologetic and remorseful, blaming it on herself, and Honey is her blaming it on him. A little dust never stopped me none - -fairy dust? He liked my shoes, I kept them on - -kept them on while making love (many men have a shoe fetish)... also for Tori I think shoes represent individuality.. and since this is past tense I think this means the start of the relationship Sometimes I can hold my tongue but some times not when you just skip to loo my darlin - -In Baker Baker is "goes to LA" and I think this is talking baout the same sort of departure... as if he's being inconsiderate and htis song is her not "holding her tongue" And you know what you're doing so don't even.. - -Don't try to deny what I'm accusing you of.. You're just too used to my honey now - -you're used to my giving it up to you, to my female specialness, and you can do what you want without me complaining Don't bother coming down, made a friend of the western sky - -again, an LA reference, since he was commuting from LA to England when they were together Ill tell you one last time, I love to watch those cowboys ride - -She's talking about men here, I think. Tori always maintains in interviews that she DOES like men, even though some of her criticisms are a bit scathing But cowboys know cowgirls ride on the indian side - -just as Tori rode on the indian side in liking Poppa more than her Christian family... indians are associated with earthiness, divination, wisdom, emotion - as women are. Well, a 2-track promo cd has just been released with Raspberry Swirl (Lip Gloss Version) and Cruel (Shady Feline Mix), but let's hope that this is not all that's on the commercial release! Most of us have heard the Lip Gloss Version of RS by now (it's really similar to the album version), and the Shady Feline Mix of Cruel is ok, but nothing really special, IMHO. It's got some noticeable differences from the album version, though. Oh, in case anyone was wondering, the promo comes in a cardboard box with a slide out tray (like the US JS single) and has the closeup picture of raspberries on one side, and then a really cool picture of Tori on the Cruel side that I've never seen before. I'm sure someone who has the capabilities will scan it eventually. - --- "When your dream comes true, you're out one dream." --Nerrissa Nields, "Tomorrowland" ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 03 Nov 1998 16:22:05 -0500 From: Tripp Gwyn Subject: US RS @ CDNOW You can pre-order the US RS single at CDNOW. Newbury Records has a problem with spelling. I've noticed it on their webpage (www.newbury.com) a lot. On the webpage that tells you what to do about advance orders, they spell separate wrong (seperate). So I'm sure it's just that...
