We weren't recording it, but it was "In The Mix" for teens. Tori was interviewed and clips from UtP (God,etc) were shown. Maybe only 10 min of her. >>If<< your local PBS station carries ITM then you should keep your eyes alert. bye, KrW It was the least I could do! And never let it be said that I didn't do the least I could do. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 01 Nov 1998 02:39:04 -0400 (EDT) From: s007jpg@desire.wright.edu Subject: NEED TIX FOR INDY SHOW does anyone out there have 2 extra tickets for the tori show in indianapolis on november 30th at the Murat theatre? i need 2 tickets, but the show is already sold out :( please email me a.s.a.p. if you can help me out! thankx john ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 31 Oct 1998 23:52:02 -0500 From: Erin Martin Subject: vanilla/siren Hi! I was just reading becky's really insightful Siren interpretation and I had a couple thoughts, mostly about vanilla... I think "vanilla" refers to purity. And perhaps the bordeom of complete innocence. Maybe Finn feels like he needs to stick to his own "vanilla class"...or regain his innocence? I haven't seen the movie so I don't really know...which leads to my next topic, which is Siren. I hate to quote myself to explain my train of thought, but I know in one songpoemthing I wrote, I said something about, "then you'll know why siren's in the dictionary twice." I think especially to go along with the ambulance reference, you have to look at this girl as being both a dangerous temptress who lures you to crash on her shores, as well as the sound of an urgent wail for help. Actually siren has yet another meaning which may not be as relevant...in my music classes, we learn that a "siren" is when you make a sound that includes every note that's in your range. So maybe she could be not in his "range?" I don't know...like I said, I haven't seen the movie or even read the book. I'm just shooting in the dark here. ...so take care, everybody and I'll see you round the bend! This isn't one of my usually long posts :) I've been trying to make contact with EWFs in my area and an idea came to me: why not try to organize fellow EWFs in my area together into sort of a local/regional fan club? For one thing it would be cool to meet in person others who share a love for Tori's music. Plus there would be an opportunity for people with overlapping interests besides Tori to meet as well. Also it would mean a local network of people to trade with, and in the future, a group to get together with leading up to future concerts to help newer fans out. Ok, I am rambling a bit but I really think this would be a cool thing and I would like to make contact with others in my area to get this started. Please reply privately if you live in the San Antonio area (including Austin and Corpus Christi for example) and are interested. And perhaps others in their respective local areas can set up something similar...sort of a fan network :) please reply privately to: simon@texas.net Simon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 1 Nov 1998 12:43:13 EST From: Cdfreke@aol.com Subject: Interpretations i was listening to tori on Halloween night ( last night ) and i was thinking about what some of her songs meant with the ocassional interepution aside ( very few trick or treaters came by ) i relized i am completely in the dark on most of Tori's songs On LE i don't understand TiYH or LE or PT( i kinda get it ) I barely understand UtP and most of BfP ftCgH is also unclear for the most part if anyone has interpretatoins on any tori songs i'd like to hear them to help me understand them more Covers: i relized i completely forgot about Somewhere over the Rainbow that song gives me chills i totally love it ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 1 Nov 1998 19:21:25 -0500 From: Erin Martin Subject: Tori in Entertainment Weekly (somewhat old issue) Hello again! I was looking through magazines today at work and flipped through an old issue of Entertainment Weekly. Which I usually don't agree with, but I digress. It was the one w/ Jennifer Lopez on the front and a big article about "divas." Tori and Marilyn Manson(!) were listed as "divas from another planet". To quote Boris (is it Karlov? You know the guy!), "I wouldn't touch [that] with a thirty-two and a half foot pole!" :) Silence faith and luck, Erin ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 01 Nov 1998 17:49:59 -0800 From: "Ms. Timid" Subject: Boots and in search of the devil bitch Does anyone know "the devil bitch"? i was doing a boot thing with her and forgot to write down her email addy ( i just got y kant tori rede and the dew drop inn boulder 2 cd set, y kant tori rede is very cool!!!!) =) does anyone know who had the San Diego boots? or the LA Greek shows? thanks!! I finally figured out why Honey is such a siginificant song to Tori. Instead of Pink, I think it would probably have been better on Pele. I've come to the realtization that Honey is Tori's holding back song. She's said in many interviews that during Pink she was trying to deny and hold back a mountain of problems. Okay, sorry, but I've listened to the song and loved it for so long and that realitization just hit me. If someone is genuinely interested in them, I will sell them for $40. The only problem is that one if them is a student ticket, which means a non-student using it would have to pay the difference (the student ticket is about $10 cheaper) at the box office once they go in to see the show. The tix would be awesome seats if the show wasn't GA, but you will have to arrive very early to get good seats. Only serious inquiries please. Lafayette, IN setlist? Hey people! Just wanted to give you my pennies on the Halloween concert at Purdue! It was pretty good! I was kinda disappointed, because the accoustics sucked hardcore! They should have done a better job in sound check, but besides that, the show rocked! I was completely blown away by it all! Wow!!! And I know a few people were talking about how bad the opening act was. Well I thought they were good. Could use a little work on their show part, but the music is good. Kinda reminds me of Toad the Wet Sprocket! Anyways, I bought the Unbelievable Truth's cd and it's pretty cool. I recommend them highly! Does anyone have the setlist with all the songs and in the correct order? If so, could you please send it to me? I was too shocked by my first Tori concert to have remembered to write it down! This is all I can remember and not in any order! Precious Things Muhammad, My Friend Father Lucifer Mother Talula Cruel Cornflake Girl The Waitress Beulah Land (She said this was the 1st time in concert; true?) Raspberry Swirl Spark Pandora's Aquarium Little Earthquakes Hotel Anyways... somebody help me out here, please! Thanks! For those that attended: What was your opinion of the concert??? ~~Shaigirl Shaigirl 18/f shaigirl79@hotmail.com **~**~**~**~**~**~**~**~**~**~**~**~**~**~**~**~**~**~** "So don't give me respect don't give me a piece of your preciousness..." - -Tori Amos ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V3 #384 *************************************
