Oh, they do want only the first several rows to come up and stand in front of the stage, but I'd not seen *any* enforcement of this before at any of the handful of shows that I've seen this done. > ...and I think even though I was mad at the time that they make sense > because if *everyone* could go up to the stage, EVERYONE WOULD! :) That is typically what I've seen happen, yeah. :-) I was going to refer folks to a story from the July 11, 1996 Oakland concert, in which Tori was upset that folks couldn't have been seated closer to the stage than they were, but I didn't see it up on The Dent as I'd expected to. I don't have time to recount it now, but hopefully someone with the ability to transcribe it will send in the "...it's like the Land of *Canaan* out there" story. I'll do my best when I have a chance if no one helps out with this. I don't know if my message went completely over her head or what, because first off, she said that she didn't even know when the show started because there was no start time listed on the schedule--my tickets say 7:30 pm, how about anyone else's? She also said that the "doors" would open two hours before the show (as they usually do), and that the Creek had no control over the Meet & Greet, that the label did, and that she had no idea what in the world would be going on. She said the only way I could go to the Meet & Greet was if I won a backstage pass from the radio station. (????????????) First off, if this is KNC they're talking about, I DJ there, so no prob, but I doubt they're offering it through us. Second, this has nothing to do with backstage passes, which is what I'm sure she did not understand. So, here's my plan: a bunch of us either show up early in the afternoon and wait and bug these people to death, or some others can call and try to ply information out of them! =) I say both, but I would really like some info soon, just because the layout of the Creek is horrendous for this sort of thing. Even if she misunderstood, she was a really nice woman, so if you want to call, call the Creek office at (919)831-6400 and ask for Bethany. (The secretary's really nice as well...nice people all around! What a breath of fresh air!) As (I think it was him) Richard pointed out to me, if we get them thinking about it beforehand, it might turn out to be a pleasant situation for everyone involved. I'm afraid that there won't be a Meet & Greet otherwise because of the difficulty in location. So if you're going to the Raleigh show, express an interest and call the Creek up. I mean, what's the worst that can happen, right? Heather "And all the angels, and all the wizards black and white, are lighting candles in our hands..." I've gotten a lot of emails concerning the Raleigh Meet and Greet and I think people are completely misunderstanding why I'm making such a big deal of this. See, the Creek parking area is HUGE, and they don't even let anyone IN until two hours before the show. People have been telling me, "show up early" but that's not the point--you won't be anywhere NEAR where her buses show up at. You won't even be able to see the gate, let alone anyone there seeing you. See, that's my concern. I worked there for three years, and after OzzFest this year (which I attended, kick ass show), they have gotten extremely anal about people hanging around, because there was this huge scalping bust and people showing up paying for parking, and then begging for tickets to get into the actual show, blah blah. This will be much, much smaller since it's only pavilion seating, but if they're not going to let anyone in...you see where I'm going? And plus, the area the buses dock at are reserved for vendor/Creek employees only. Meaning they won't let you anywhere near it. THIS is my concern. So there's got to be some sort of communication going on. I guess this means we're going to have to show up and then beg, no shame. I was just hoping that it wouldn't be this huge deal to be able to, is all. Sorry if I wasn't clear... Remember the post i JUST sent out about the stats ... well here's a fun little game that I like to do almost every time I update the list... This only works if you've been to a few shows this tour... The more the better, but more than one works... Go from the top of the list, go through every song, remembering which ones you've heard live when you saw Tori ... the first one you come to is a song that you have not heard live at a show you attended. It's just cool to know. For me it's Space Dog. Even though I've seen Tori five times on this tour, I keep missing that song! Then go from the bottom up, same thing, going one by one until you get to one you HAVE seen! If it's fairly near the bottom, that makes you a lucky boy or girl! You've been witness to one of the more rare songs on the plugged 98 setlist! Good for you! I believe last time I checked was Me And a Gun for myself. If you'd like you can email me or your friends and let us know the results of my little game, but please, do NOT send to the lists... This would only be clutter that I don't' want to be blamed for!!!!!!! Or if you could care less, just do it for yourself and forget about it!!!!!!! Talk to you all soon! I'm so anxiously waiting for my next Tori show, which is Blacksburg.... I have four shows left on this tour (so far), I'm attending Blacksburg, Baltimore, Norfolk, and Pittsburgh........ He also kept people out of the vacated seats... I was actually really mad at the situation AND at the people who snuck up front anyway. Unfair on all sides.
