I was watching Beavis and Butthead Mon. night for the second time of my life, and what comes on??? The God video! They say that Tori's hot, but she's nuts, and if you went out with her, she'd probably put a dead rat on your bed, or something to that extent. Also, I'm surprised no one has mentioned the similarities between Frog on My Toe and Beulah Land, b/c the first time I heard BL, I thought it was uncanny. Technically, some of the syncopation is IDENTICAL and it just struck me as really similar. So it's easy to distinguish as a BfP song. Another thing I wanted to do was to praise Brandi for an excellent trade. She sent me an AWESOME quality boot of the MCI Center, and was very friendly and sweet. I would definitely recommend her. love, sonya ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Sep 1998 17:49:12 From: *esmerelda98 Subject: UPDATE! What the heck is a teletubby? I've been trying to > figure it out... but I just can't. Teletubbies are this absolutely terrible television show for tiny children. There's no real dialog, just 4 little teletubbies (with names like La-La) who make cooing noises and have permanent smiles and television screen on there chubby bellies. Oh yeah and they have antennae I think. It's a British tv show (right?). Anyways, I've only seen it once, which was more than enough for me. My 6 year old cousin likes it, but... I think its' really made for younger kids who don't know many words yet. Sorry if I offended any teletubby fans. I know Tori likes it, but that doesn't mean I have to. And the $50 in the price guide is usually based on a sellers market, not a buyers, and in this case..Record dealers are usually looking to make as much as they can, frequently listing an item for an outrageous price, then slowly dropping it depending on the length they own it..they don't make money on keeping things :) As well as the fact that because of a tour, a new cd out, and new *buzz* around Tori, things that aren't really *rare* are selling for ridiculous prices to the people willing to pay them (I've seen promo cd's for Jackie's Strength getting $30-$45 on ebay, and i paid $8 for mine...) What the heck is a >>teletubby? I've been trying to figure it out... but I just can't. It's not a stupid question. Teletubbies has only been around here in the States since April and it's not shown in every area. Teletubbies is a TV show for infants (brilliant, hunh?). It began in England and has now moved here to the US. It's very surreal, ominous, and usually somewhat frightens adults and children to some degree, being alternatly annoying, intriguing, and nightmarish at the same time. (Personally, I have the overwhelming feeling that when the cameras turn off and everyone goes home, the Teletubbies go inside their dome and eat children for dinner -- they're frightening, looking as if they're trying way too hard to look innocent). I told a friend about this show and she sat her 7-year-old boy down to watch it and, trying hard to keep a stiff manly upper lip, he not-so-non-chalantly commented, "This is, uh, sort of scary." There are many people obsessed with this show (my 63-year-old mother being one of them). The most controversial rumors concern Tubbie fans dropping acid before watching the show. Me, I have to ask, "Why on earth would you NEED to?" It's that weird. To check them out, visit: http://freespace.virgin.net/meza.w/teletubbies/gal_tubs.html My mother sent me that URL (which is nearly as bizarre as the teletubbies). Look to see if the show is on your local PBS stations in the morning, too. If it's not yet, it probably will be soon. BTW, for Tori content, the doll Tori sang to onstage was Dipsy, the green one with the penis-thing on its head.
