I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a site where you can sub to all of the Tori Amos mailing lists. Someone on a completely different list would like to sub, but I did this all a long time ago, and I forgot where! I know you can do it at the Dent, but that seems to be down...is there another site? ~~lyn - -o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o email -- kroberts@connect.ab.ca, spark_girl98@yahoo.com Tori Amos - Fresh Little Puddles (URL): www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Cabaret/1279/ Join the 'Liquid Diamonds' mailing list? In the UK, there exist the following BfP releases: 1) Identical to the original BfP released in the States 2) Replace original Talula with the Tornado mix {identical to what happened in the States} 3) Add Armand's Star Trunkin' Duckin' Buckin' Muckin' whatever remix of Professional Widow {and keep the original}, dump Voodoo. If you look at the back of the CD case and read the songs, it should tell you which it is. If it's (1) or (2), I wouldn't bother. If it's (3), I would only bother if want that Funkin' Hunkin' whatever remix -- which is, IIRC, more readily available on the US single for Professional Widow {and way cheaper, too!}. /nad ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 20 Aug 1998 22:10:32 EDT From: Thorpie679@aol.com Subject: M&G Line Numbers?? Hi :) I've heard from two different people in two diffrerent cities that there are now _line numbers_ being given before each meet and greet. I'm also assuming that's it's on a first come first serve basis b/c....well. DUH. So, who is organizing this? When did this start? And do people actually _follow_ this procedure??? Thanks :) .christa. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 20 Aug 1998 21:17:01 EDT From: HyJptrCrsh@aol.com Subject: Re: Tori's wonderful faeries >Being a Wiccan myself, I don't think Tori is Wiccan per se. People were writing asking why I had to overanalyze Tori's songs. It reminded me of when Tori said "People are listening to this going 'oh my god. Can't she just like have a twinkie and get over it?'" But to me the whole reason I listen to Tori is that she writes the most amazing lyrics. I mean she also has a gorgeous singing voice and amazing piano playing talent, but for the most part I would say what drew me to her as a fourteen year old girl (I'm 21 now) was her lyrics. If I wanted to just listen to some music and go "oh pretty" and not think about the message that is being conveyed maybe I could listen to the Spice Girls or Puff Daddy. Oh and I'm not ragging on Puff Daddy or the Spice Girls. More power to them okay :-) They seem like nice people to me. > they are only her words, her thoughts, poetry. > nobody understands poetry. That really makes me grumpy because one of my majors is English. It's just a hobby, but I love analyzing words and poetry and books and songs. I mean just like I maybe totally wrong about Courtney Love being the Professional Widow in Tori's song I could be wrong about the poetry I analyze in school. But to me it would be nice to know what Tori was thinking when she wrote something. Or what Sylvia Plath or Robert Frost were thinking when they wrote their poetry. Tori says that her fans are looking for her to challenge them. When she says this I'm thinking she wants us to think when we listen to her music and not just go "oh pretty." Just like when I read books I could read William Faulkner and think about what the book means or I could read trashy romance novels and not think at all. I kind of think of Tori Amos as William Faulkner and Puff Daddy as trashy romance novels. Most people wouldn't read a William Faulkner novel and say something like "That was cool." They would say something like "That book changed my life." Or "Wow that blew my mind." Just in the same way with Tori Amos. I mean the woman changed my life. Her lyrics are deep and meaningful and the words touched me. When my friends and I have nothing to do we just sit around and analyze Tori Amos lyrics. Well what I wanted to know is why do other people listen to Tori Amos? Is it just because it sounds pretty? Or what is it? If you could email me I'd really be interested in what you have to say :-) Oh and another note. My friend Ashley has four tickets to the San Diego California show on Saturday, September 26th. The seats are in the middle section Row 12. She wants to sell them for exactly what she paid which is $34.50 per ticket She'd prefer to sell all 4 tickets to the same person, but she said "I'll take whatever I can get." So email me at Cindy2Love@aol.com and we can discuss it if you're interested in purchasing the tickets :-) Oh and I hope I didn't upset anyone with all the Courtney Love chit chat. The interpretations are only opinions. Not facts :-) And I respect all your opinions so I hope you respect mine :-) Love to the EWF! :-) Cindy "What Jesus was really saying was 'It is within you.' There are things that I would disagree with Jesus about -- and I feel really good about that. That's how it should be. Respect Him to go His way and I'll do my thing. I mean, if you want to go and sit out in the desert for 40 days, knock yourself out. But I'm going to go and get some pizza. And I'm not less of a person because of it. I'll help old ladies across the street, too."
