For you folks around the globe, here are the CNN schedules: CNN International WorldBeat * Europe / Berlin Time Saturday 20:30 Sunday 09:30 Monday 01:30 * Asia / Hong Kong Time Saturday 20:30 * Latin America / Buenos Aires Time Saturday 19:30 Sunday 21:30 In many areas, CNN is aired live. This means that, for example, if you are in the UK (which is an hour behind Berlin Time), then if CNN airs live where you are, the show would actually be on at 19:30. I hope this makes sense. For you US folks, here's the schedule again. (I assume this is the schedule for Canada as well): CNN WorldBeat * US / Eastern Standard Time Saturday 11:59pm Sunday 3:30pm Remember, if the show is aired live where you are, then the Saturday show will be at 8:59pm PST and the Sunday show at 12:30pm PST. So check your local listings. Violet xoxox P.S. If you'd like to subscribe to ToriTour, contact me to ask how. Their automated line didn't mention anything about it, and the woman who answered the phone couldn't figure out how to spell "Amos". She said that there was no Tori anyone playing in Atlanta period. {Ain't TicketMaster lovely?} The full scoop on ticket sales for this particular show appeared in today's Atlanta Journal-Constitution. I typed up the article below. Comments in brackets [] are mine. - -*- Begin quoted material -*- Daltrey, Cocker, Beach Boys among acts set for Chastain Former Who singer Roger Daltrey, Jackson Browne, Joe Cocker, and the Beach Boys are among acts coming to Chastain Park Amphitheatre this summer and fall. Season tickets for the 12-show series -- a golden oldies lineup with the exceptions of Tori Amos and Faith Hill -- will go on sale at 10am Sunday [21 June 1998]. Long-term subscribers have had first change at tickets, but reserved seats and some tables remain for most concerts. Prices range from $27 to $49. Fans must purchase tickets for two or more shows; single-show tickets will go on sale July 11. Information: 404-636-5004. The schedule (shows at 8pm except where noted): July 28: British Rock Symphony with Roger Daltrey Aug 6: Yes, the Alan Parsons Project Aug 18: Tori Amos (no tables sold) Aug 23: Earth, Wind, & Fire; the Isley Brothers; the O'Jay's (7.30pm) Aug 28: KC & the Sunshine Band, Gloria Gaynor, the Trammps (7.30pm) Aug 29: Jackson Browne Sep 5: The Gipsy Kings Sep 11: Joe Cocker Sep 19: Tom Jones [hey, where's Tori on this date? They could do another duet... ;) ] Sep 25: The Beach Boys Oct 9: Jethro Tull (no tables sold) Oct 16: Faith Hill - -*- End quoted material -*- Okay, folks, what this whole thing means is this: Chastain always does this big summer concert series. When it says "long-term subscribers have had first chance at tickets", it means that big businesses who buy up big blocks of tickets to Chastain's summer series bought their tickets a couple of months ago, and that all the best seats in the house are most likely gone. Businesses in metro Atlanta buy up these tickets to use to entertain clients, which is part of the reason that Chastain has earned the nickname "Chats-stain". IMHO, this concert series is the absolute worst thing that I've ever seen. People are there trying to do business, which means that they're talking throughout the entire show - -- even Indigo Girls, which have a -huge- fanbase in Atlanta, were subjected to an incredibly rude audience at their last show there. The first show here isn't part of the series, but many of the shows at Chastain suffer from the same problem. The series just means that the businesses get the good seats; the regular shows still have a lot of chatting execs, but they're generally a little further back. I'm very disappointed to see Tori as a part of Chastain's summer concert series. Granted, I was disappointed to see her playing Chastain {esp after how horrible the audience at her show there in Aug 1996 was}, but I'm even more disappointed to see it as part of the series. :( As a side note, tickets are still available for her first show at Chastain on 17 August 1998. Anyway, hope this helps y'all. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 20 Jun 1998 01:44:52 EDT From: Estrella45@aol.com Subject: buying from ticketmaster online? can you get good seats if you buy from ticketmaster online at the time the tickets go on sale? what are your chances against phone people and people in line? has anybody ever done this before? what was your experience? ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 20 Jun 1998 01:27:54 -0700 (PDT) From: Alitza Abner Subject: Merman and Distant Storm Hi, everybody! Although the interviewer didn't seem to know a thing about her music. "So, did you like being a cornflake girl" or something to that effect :) but not everyone likes her as much as us, i guess, or cares about little details. I really liked what she said about her songs being like the white rabbit from alice and wonderland, and them leading her through the "rabbit hole" and such. That was really cool. They showed a bunch of clips from her "Spark" and "Cornflake Girl" videos (US version of CFG). I just noticed one thing. The OVERALLS :) Does she always wear those or something? Cause I also notice in the rolling stone interview, and some other interviews I've read, they describe her as the "overall clad" girl, or something. I'm not picking, I'm just wondering. It seems a strange coincidence ;) Maybe that's just what she's comfortable in :) Oh well, no one that great has to worry about being a fashion plate!
