I wasn't able to post it very frequently on RDTRN (bandwidth considerations and all), so I offered to to do a list to get the info to RDTRNers. Up until now, this list -- ToriTour -- has only been announced on The Dent and RDTRN, but it has grown far beyond RDTRN (currently is approaching the 1,000 members), and it sort of makes sense to mention it here. ToriTour gathers Charlie's information together with research/info I've collected myself and goes out as three regional lists: ToriTour American, ToriTour Euro, and ToriTour Other). Corrections and additions from Toriphiles around the world are strongly encouraged. If you'd like to subscribe, send a message to: and write either "subscribe american tour" or "subscribe euro tour" or "subscribe other tour" in the message body. Please write ONLY one of the above exactly as listed, or you'll end up with a helpfile. (You may join more than one list, you just need to join separately.) Note: * "American" encompasses the US, Canada, Central & South America. * "Euro" encompasses the UK & Europe. * "Other" encompasses Asia, Australia, Africa & vicinities (okay, so we're optimistic) :) This tour list is distribution-only. There will be no posts. The list is sent out only as there are updates. It also includes notification and reminders of webcasts and singles/releases (especially helpful for you folks in the Other countries while you're waiting for good news). You've raised over $3500 at this point, and I really appreciate your support!!! Earlier this week I ordered the new hardware for smoe.org, which cost $4600 (drop me a note if you're interested in the technical specs on the new gear). It arrived today, and I'm taking a few days off work to get it set up and in production. At some point between Saturday and Tuesday, smoe.org will be shut down to install the new hardware. The downtime will probably be 4-6 hours. During the time we're off-line, mail will be queued up at my ISP so no mail will be lost. I'll send out another announcement once the new gear is online. Thanks again for your help! - -Jeff P.S. If you've been meaning to send in a check, Mike Connell is still accepting donations. Like, should I call Ticketmaster right away, or buy the tickets at the venue (Theatre of the Clouds in Portland, OR), or does it not matter? Does buying the tickets right away mean getting better seats? Do you have any say in where your seats will be? Do seats closer to the front cost more? By the way, to anyone that was wondering what and where the heck Theatre of the Clouds is, you can go to http://www.ticketmaster.com/venue/sea/198/seat6.html Apparently it's a part of the Rose Garden or something, but they have a seating chart for it, and www.rosequarter.com has the address for the rose garden and pictures of the view from your seat's section. The "I mooned him once on Donna's box" line seems to be bringing up a lot of discussion... I think it simply means she mooned Donna's lunchbox, which had David Cassidy's picture on it, as a symbol of actually mooning him but not being able to (one does not often have the opportunity to moon one's celebrities - -- Hey, I wonder how Tori would respond to that? Would she laugh? Would it be worth the wrath of Agent Orange?) As for who Donna is, I'm surprised no one's figured this out. Isn't Tori's older sister named Donna? I believing she is actually singing "Oh, Jackie O, Oh Jackie O" and it is a nice dedicating intro I think. Also was posted about the "rhyming" being somewhat forced, ie, "A Bouviar till her wedding day". I don't believe Tori works to rhyme at all and this sounds like a line that caught in her head when she read that book on Jackie Bovier Kennedy Onnasis. About the 70's flashback with the lunchboxes, I remember in the early 70's that there were "Lickable Stickers" that we all had fun with, they were flavored and they even had some movies that had audience participation with handing out cards with lickable patches and cues in the movie to taste a certain portion to simulate what the actors were tasting, ie, pickel, lemon, garlic... And as far as "mooning him on Donna's box", I believe that would refer more to the television than a lunchbox. TV is (was?) known as the Box, Boobtube, etc. I could imagine if I saw some girl "mooning" the Partidge Family on my tv, I'd be slightly shocked (altho' not in recovery 20 years later. anyhoo, I had a need to respond to the things that stuck in my head after reading them.
