My sister who listens to rap, is really addicted to Spark and Black Dove, just like me. I love all tOri's albums equally, i mean the albums are not personal to me, except for Hey Jupiter. To me, tOri's more about the music...and Ftcgh has everything. I mean Boys for Pele is great for when i want to relax or in the BFP mood, but ftchh make me space out and start dancing ( i swear ta God i get a high from her music...no joke). I mean i havent' listened to boys for pele since the new album came out, because hey i waited forever for some new tunes. I think She's your cocaine is the best...i love the guitars and drums...and of course tOri's voice. I didn't have to force myself to listen to this cd, Liquid Diamonds is the best... and what Led zeppelin song does it sound like? I wanted to buy one of their albums, but they were like 26 bucks? These songs live up to tOri...i know this for a fact because, her lyrics are so fucken great....i mean if i knew what she was talking about then i would be disappointed, but i don't. She lets us interpret them, and that whats so cool. Even though when she does try to explain them i still don't understand. It's like those abstract paintings? ya know, you can interpret them yourself but, only the artist knows what they mean? Word to your mother, Finn--ey p.s. and that's pretty good when my sister likes tOri's songs, considering she's addicted to Brandi and any other hip hop (which isn't bad). I wish Liquid Diamonds or Black Dove would be the next single, no wait...i hope every song on this album becomes a single!!!! Actually, it's not good info...at least not good Tori info. :) Tori Amos is NOT, I repeat, NOT confirmed to play at Lilith Fair. Moreover, it's extremely unlikely that she will be, being as she will be right in the middle of her own world tour at that point. And honestly, the venues that Tori is playing this time around are nearly as big as the Lilith Fair venues. Check out www.lilithfair.com for more information about Lilith Fair. I've been thinking about the whole thing with the artwork on Choirgirl, and it seems like there's a lot more going on. Most people have noticed the peace sign/middle finger from the full-back shot. Kat/Ramoth/Dragongrl/Everybody Else's Girl pointed out to me this evening that in the side shot in the webby black dress, Tori's doing the sign language letters "C" and "H" (probably for "Choirgirl Hotel"). Now, on the front, she's got her hands in these odd positions where the index finger of her left hand and the middle finger of her right hand are folded down, and the rest are up. I'm not sure what this means yet, but I do know that when you count in binary you do it by counting from the finger that's folded down. Does anyone here know how to count in binary? What number is she holding up? Does it mean anything? Also, this isn't much to go on yet, but if the word 'casino' is coded in the lyrics at the end, it's interesting considering that there's a "Nautical Nun Casino" in the map. Also another set of letters (I think it's in "Cocaine") seem to say "ATR" but I don't know. Maybe the clues are in the map and vice versa. Another thought -- does anyone have a topographical map of Cornwall? Do the mountains and lanes and stuff line up? Or is her map complete fantasy? Just some thoughts -- Beth - -- "You're the blood in me -- you're the truth that hurts You're the memory -- you're the drug that works." (Heather Nova) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 May 1998 01:15:26 -0700 From: Beth Winegarner Subject: I dedicate this song The only thing I've been listening to more this week than Tori is the new Heather Nova album (interestingly titled "Siren"), which is due to come out June 2 in America, and possibly a bit sooner than that in the UK (I don't know). She, like Tori, is an Englander by choice. She was born in Bermuda and currently lives in London. Anyway, the new album is fantastic, and all you Heather Nova fans (hi Dave!) will be quite happy. There's a song on here, though, which reminds me very much of what it's like to be a Tori fan, going to a show, listening to her music. In light of the fact that her European leg of the full-fledged Plugged tour begins tomorrow in the UK, I thought I'd send the lyrics to the song to you all. I'm sure you'll find them quite appropriate. Beth PS I got two tickets for the LA show, Sept 23, at the Greek in LA. When I heard she'd be playing this venue, somewhat smaller than the arenas up here, I jumped at the chance. I don't have super-awesome seats or anything, but I'm quite happy. When the time draws closer I'm sure I'll want to see if I can meet up with some of the LA EWFs since this will be my first time 'traveling' to see Tori. :) - -- "You're the blood in me -- you're the truth that hurts You're the memory -- you're the drug that works." It's MUCH smaller than an arena, and is the PERFECT venue for Tori. There's no one, definite version of the events that happened to Tori that night. It's more or less accepted amongst the people who've really studied what she's said that actual, proper penetration didn't occur, but she *was* held hostage for several hours and subjected to physical and mental abuse. This is rape by any name, regardless of if the man actually forced sex upon her. A terrible ordeal. >ALSO-She just said that she has people read most of her letters and >answer some of them for her, but at the Virgin Megastore Appearance, she >said she reads every one of them. Think about it - it would be impossible for Tori to read *every* letter that gets sent to her, she must get hundreds a week. I believe her management may pass important letters on to her, but the real way of getting Tori to read your letter is to give her it by hand, if you can, or maybe chance it and pass it on through her security crew.
