She addresses it to girls, so that is the forefront meaning. But of course with Tori, there are many underlying meaning also. But no, you don't have a dirty mind; Tori just has a very discriptive, direct way of stating things. Hey Jen, Oh i love when radio stations do that...When Nashville had a decent radio station and when BFP first came out they played Blood Roses alot cause they liked it. But now that radio station is gone and noone else really plays tori much, nothing that i listen to the radio at all anymore. > > On Leno last night, whenever they were speaking of Tori (before she > came out), one of her videos was playing in the background. I think i remember tori saying that people do her makeup and hair, and she just lets them do whatever they want to her, so since she kind made fun of her own eyebrows last night, i took it as her not liking it too much... I haven't fully absorbed all the lyrics yet, but I would have thought from the title that Northern Lad was, at least partially, about someone from the north of England (its kind of a phrase that they use here that I've never really heard of referring to the States). So I would say its not all about Eric cause isn't he American?? Does anyone know where in England Mark is from? If he is from Wycombe, where they got married, that is not in the north. On the subject of Eric, this has been bugging me for ages. I've heard that China was the first song (or one of the first) written for Little Earthquakes but I've also heard it was the last to get on the album - even after Me and a Gun - I think the story was that Upside Down got ousted cause after the album had been recorded the record company heard Tori play China and wanted to include that instead? So I've always wondered, if it was such an early song why didn't Tori pick it for the album to start with? Was it really one of the first songs written? Until I heard this I always thought that China and Me&aGun were both written in mid 1991 in England after the album was recorded, which kind of made sense cause of the lyrics which I though were about her missing Eric. So I've been wondering this for 8 years - does anyone know the answer?? :) Something I noticed about the new album - I've listened to it over and over but the lyrics aren't getting through. They will eventually, of course, but on previous albums it was a couple of phrases always jumped out and got me. That hasn't happened yet... And another thing :) - If anyone else is going to the Portsmouth, or the Royal Albert Hall shows and wants to say hi drop me an E-mail!! I was dying when she went bleep bleep with her eyebrows...which looked adorable....I think no matter what show she plays on they will all be unique and different. and how could you have to decided whether to see tOri in an arena or not...if she was coming to my town i would be there in a flash...who knows when you would be able to see her again. peace Kim ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 May 1998 23:23:54 -0400 (EDT) From: "Kelly M. It was the second "how many fates..." part. She ended the song without going back to that part. That might account for most of the time "missing" from the song.
